    Hey,
I'm a new Tacoma owner, as of November, and am excited about joining Tacoma world. I bought a 2011 Tacoma, 4.0L Access Cab. its got a 6-spd manual and 4x4. I use it mostly as a work truck, but hoping to outfit it a bit to make it a tour truck for my band and do some camping around the country. Hoping to build out the bed in the next few months, and do some suspension work.
This is the first Toyota I've ever owned, I had an 08 Audi a3 before (RIP :pout:) which i worked on extensively, so I'm hoping to do the same with the Tacoma without ruining it.

Anyone have experience with either building out the bed or getting the suspension a little more sporty.... I would really appreciate some guidance!WhatsApp Image 2025-02-25 at 3.38.57 PM.jpg

Re: suspension upgrades. I wanted to cure the "washboard 'side-stepping" issue my truck occasionally had on the rougher Forest Service roads I travel to fish. I'd get it on slight climbs along the way that were eroded a bit. I installed Rancho RS5000 rear shocks and it cured it. They have valving which quickly self-adjusts to firm-up on surfaces like this or others which max-out the up/down travel limitsmof the shock. The damping returns to normal when things calm down. They work very well and they don't change the height in the back. If I towed more, or often carried heavy loads in the bed, I would probably have installed the KYB or Nivomat Self-Leveling shocks.
