    Hello All!

I have been going through this forum reading as much as I can about Tacomas and modifications dos and don’ts. I plan on purchasing a new Tacoma within the next six months and want to get it right the first time. Thanks for the add!

I would love to have a manual, then the wife couldn’t drive it! Leaning toward a TRD Off-Road.

You're off to a good start then. I totally hated the auto and I'm not alone. You'll hear lots going "OV tune". You'd be much happier with the manual.

You got that right. I always buy a vehicle with the good intentions of lifting it and putting on a good set of wheels and tires, but something always comes up. I won’t leave the dealership this time without it done the way I want it!

Try to find a manual, teach the wife to drive it trust me you wont regret it. my automatic seems to work fine from others complaining about it slow shifting but IMO a manual transmission seems more engaging in a truck.

I got a good look at the dealership today at what I want to get. It was between the off road and the pro. The pro had a $5000 markup, so it was out!

Probably not a good idea for the dealership to do the lift or buy a "lifted" one off the lot. They use crap parts. I've only seen 2 dealership out of ten that used good parts but to the tune of $5K-10K additional.

Thanks for the advice. That’s what I am trying to do right now. I will only do some light off-roading, so I am going to build it for that purpose. 33 inch A/T tires, lift to accommodate those tires, and some skid plates to start out with.

Come over here, they don't mark the PRO's up to screw you. Drive it back. Haha
