    Hello Tacoma World!!!

I have been lurking a few years and thought it was time to join the group. After using this forum to replace an oxygen sensor a few years ago, I have been hooked and in love with this forum.

So many members, so much information, so much help, polite and respectable people. I compliment you all for the quality of this site, my favorite on the interwebs.

So let me introduce you to my ride, bought new in 2004 and currently have 186,000 miles. Here’s the Coma all cleaned up:

    E5AE9EDF-3AF6-437A-A9F0-4787496B8D93.jpg

This is mostly a street, daily driver, but it does get dirty every once in a while:

    AA814E1F-ABB0-4247-BC7F-730DFEC048EF.jpg

It also loves the snow. As a snowboarder and someone who lives in snow country, I mainly bought a 4x4 for winter driving:

Sometimes we get real good dumps, and the truck gets buried:

So now no one can tell me my post needs pictures :D

    Let the madness, begin!!!

    Thanks Black DOG Lila!!!

I agree with you. To me, the first gens just have such classic lines, that it was easy for me to wind up with such a “clean” build. All I had to do was only add mods that really had a purpose (ex. Used to have a bug shield. It didn’t really stop any bugs. Took it off and all of a sudden my front end look so much better and cleaner).

Of course my philosophy is less is more and form over function. I liked the first gen so much, that in 2004, when I seen what the 2nd gen looked like (2005), I made sure to buy the last year of the first gens. Liked the compact design better than the mid sized, liked having a steel bed instead of plastic, and thought the 1st gen lines where cleaner and more in proportion (do not like the fender flairs on 2nd gens. Too wide and prefer the totally roundish flare versus the 2nd gens with the squared off corner on back half.

So yeah, to me, first gen is the best gen. Thus why I am Coma4Life. I’ll drive this truck until it dies, even though my service manager tells me “ you pretty much have to wrap a Tacoma around a tree before it’ll die”. :eek:o_O:D

    Thanks again everyone!!!

My cap is a Leer, with frameless glass, and a Rino-Rack installed by me. Love both and my BedRug truck box liner too.

No pictures of the bed for now, but here’s another shot to keep everyone interested. Sure love my Duratrack tires too. They just wanna climb anything they find:
