    I got a 09 4x4 4 cyl, it's fantastic and I'm totally happy with my purchase.

So far I've added the following :

ARE cap - good, sturdy, I wish the rear window lock was better but is adequate

Mito Corp 3.5 mirror camera display - awesome, as advertised

Hellwig springs - 2000lb version, whatever that means, mechanic said he set them at "about half" and I loaded the bed with a few hundred pounds and towed a uhaul trailer with a high tongue weight and it never bottomed out. I can't even tell they are there, 'cept when my girlfriend turned sharp and dropped off a curb. ow.

Flex a lite fan - seems to be good, is kind of noisy and took awhile to install (I had it professionally done) but I think is a good mod for the truck. Mechanic has same fan on his high performance cars and said it is a good move.

I pulled a very heavy uhaul 6x12 and had stuff in the bed and the slowest I saw was 45-50mph, mostly it was up with traffic or 75+

Toyota did a good job on this truck.

Glad to be here, these forums have a lot of good information.

The fan may do nothing much compared with the stock fan, what I wanted was an oil cooler in case I had to run the engine full throttle for an extended period of time while towing. I had no luck finding a good oil cooler in the timeframe I had.

Even with the combined weight up to what I guess was over 9000 that wasn't a problem on this trip (full throttle only for a minute at a time, and rarely). I used 4lo leaving parking lots with steep slopes and when I pulled in to my house, where it made it up the 15 degree slope yard in wet grass. I didn't have to abuse the clutch at all (when in 2wd), though I'd like 1st to be a bit lower for this overloaded condition.

The fan makes a cool whirring noise, might add a tiny bit of power and might save a bit of fuel, not enough to pay for itself (unless gas goes to 12.75 a gallon) The best thing about it would be to make the a/c work better in an extremely hot climate when stopped. I'll see how that goes when I'm out west. I'd like to talk to an automotive engineer about this subject sometime. It seems to me that the stock fan is there because of cost and reliability. The electric fan only turns 2200 rpm and seems to run pretty rarely when the a/c is off.

On the advice of neighbor with a lot of equipment experience I got the oil changed after this 1000 mile tow. He said it is cheap to do and the oil could be broken down so better to change it.
