    A lifetime of Tacos !
Good Morning TW. I've been visiting the site for years , but finally joined. I've had many Tacos , and all you guys have been a great source of info. I own a Collision Repair shop, and my best friend owns a Toyota Dealership, so we've been a Toy/Lexus family for a long time. Anyway , I recently lost my pristine 2nd Gen (ugly story, but I'm laughing about it now ... tell you about that later ... with pics). But right now I need quick advice. I've got my 20 DCSB ordered and I want to put a couple inches on her before I pick it up. I thought it was an easy 2"/1" deal (with front Strut-top spacers & 1" block in the rear) ... but the more I read, the more I'm getting confused. I'm 57 y/o , I only go off-road a couple times a year , in simple terrain, w/the kids (to shoot stuff). I'd like to figure this out quick , so I can order my parts. Truck will be in on 08/27, so time is tight. Thanks, -Nick

Should've mentioned: I saved my TRD wheels from my 2nd Gen (before the Ins Co took the truck). They have 255/75/17 on them . KO2's with 50% left.

For a quick and dirty that will work to add some inches, it doesn't sound like you do much offroad and when you do is it more just things you could probably get away with in 2wd or 4hi, so nothing CRAZY? Most will say the blocks aren't the right way, but if they fit your needs and it's your truck, go for it! You could also go for an AAL and some OME lower cost lift.... but that can be done down the road if the blocks aren't giving you the ride quality you need. Also, be mindful of the CV angles with any lift!

I a ran block lift at first. Had an issue with my CV boot as well.
I’d suggest a AAL and front springs or coil overs.

Wheels / tires you spec will fit with no lift at all.

For your use of the truck, that would be my choice.

Gets you out of panic mode. Then after you live with it a bit you can decide if you still think it needs changing, and you can decide 'how' you want to do so.

So far, I'm hearing I should treat it like a 2nd Gen : I had Headstrong front springs / AAL's in the rear. Bilstein 5100's all around. I don't need much lift, just enough to make her look proud. And I won't change the UCA's. What is "OME" ?

    Old Man Emu. A brand.

Suspension is same as 2nd gen for the most part.

Since you are a past Headstrong customer, I'd call Marie @HeadStrong Off-Road and order up again. She'll have some great thoughts on 'how'.

I put OME shocks/coils (887 coils) on the front and Deaver aal in the back with OME shocks and gained about 2.5" front/1.5" rear. All ordered from Headstrong and cost around $1k.

Yes, Marie @ Headstrong was great to deal with. I would definitely use them again.
