I purchased used Tacoma with 60k miles and in excellent shape. The problem that has occurred is; on paved mountain roads with tight, steep down hill road corners at 30 mph (hairpin corners), as I approach into the corner and centrifugal force push me against door panel the truck steering auto corrects to a straight line and the brakes automatically apply with a audible alarm under drivers seat sounding. This sends my truck straight into the oncoming traffic lane before it lets me brake myself and steer back into my own lane. This is a intermittent problem and the Toyota dealership has never heard of this problem??? ; any clues or help here, I’m thinking something wrong with VSC system? It’s very dangerous and requires several changes of underwear especially on high traffic mountain roads,…..

Hi: My name is Robbie. I’m 70 yrs. old, live in lower So. Cal. desert, Palm Springs area. I spent 3 yrs. looking for my 2010 Tacoma 4x4, 4 dr. 6’ bed stock truck. I was downsizing from Ford 350’s duallies I used in my contracting business an pulling a 30’ toy hauler I sold also. I love my Tacoma it’s the right size for this old man,… I’m still looking to build a short trailer, ( square drop ), for hunt, fish, and camping, slide-on for a tandem axle 6x12’ aluminum flatbed trailer I could still use for hauling firewood occasionally etc. I would like to put lockers an winch on this truck, but am not a serious off-roader always wantin to make sure I could get outta a fix though,…..

On the next mountain road corner I do slow down, after pulling off the road and changing my underwear first,… It is a intermittent problem , and I never know at what speed on hairpin corners it’s gonna occur,…. In So Cal we got lotsa weekend mountain road racers,.. Porches, Lamborginies etc. who love to tailgate you, and my truck going into auto-braking, and veering into the on-coming traffic lane on a blind hairpin corner tends to complicate my problem and reduce my chances of avoiding big liabilties or death,….
