I purchased a 2006 Tacoma Sport this past weekend and stumbled across this site doing a search online. This is an awesome site.
My question is about this leaf spring issue. I have a Polaris Ranger I haul on a trailer which the two combined are fairly heavy so I know I will have an issue since my truck still has the 3 springs. I have not actually tried it yet. I went to my local dealer today to discuss this issue and explained what I had learned on this site. They were fully aware of the problem but said since it was 4000 miles out of warranty they could only pay for half of the cost. I only wanted the rear springs since I plan on adding a leveling kit with Bilstein 5100's. They said it would cost me $600. Should I do it or is there an aftermarket fix that is just as good but cheaper. I was thinking about a helper spring or something. Any comments greatly appreciated.

That would have been my choice if my dealer declined TSB.

Get that with a set Billy 5100's from Downsouth, and a few other goodies for less than what would be wasted paying your dealer $600.

Thanks guys for the quick response. I have called the 800 # twice and they are telling me since it is out of warranty, its between me and the dealer. I have purchased a brand new car from this dealer and always had it serviced by them. You would think they would help out more.
Thanks Roxspin for the link to the add a leaf. I'll probably go that route.
