My my that is pretty. I would LOVE to get a new frame in a first gen. Was this a part of the recall or did you pay for this? How much if you paid? For everything all said and done?

It was all recall work. I'm paying for new rear shocks.... I may have the timing chain done seeing how the engine is out but thats it.

Man that's sweet. How do you qualify for recall work on a 01-04? You had to get it rustproofed by toyota and then that gave you 15 more years of full warranty on it?

Hey thanks... Yep the first owner had it treated back in 04... That gave me till 2019.. I found the holes, took it in and they gave me a corolla... Wonderful. It's been 2 months for me. There are guys waiting on frames for their 05-08s for 4-5 months. Its well worth the wait my truck only has 96k on it.

Ah new leafs, not new shocks ;) Looks sick man!! Is that recall after a toyota rustproofing extended to all future owners of said truck? I'm just curious because I want a first gen and if the 01-04 can get a free frame then damn I'm interested!

Yep if you find one.. Just be sure it was coated at a dealer and you'll be set. I got the vin before i bought the truck and searched through its service history..... Yeah it would be nice if they would replace the shocks and the skid plates:confused:

Ah so it's attached to the VIN, as in it qualifies for the next recall after they rustproof it. That's pretty awesome. No stressing out about old Toyota records proving the rustproofing. Aha no complaining man!! You're getting a very expensive job done for very cheap ;)

Ah man that's so BADASS!! That brand spanking new frame will give you some serious piece of mind down the road. Honestly, first gens with brand new frames are the dream. Bulletproof drivetrain and now chassis. So jealous!! Where do you live? Salt belt US? I'm from Ontario, Canada where they dump salt on the road like its french fries...

Yep Pennsylvania...the roads here are more white because of all the salt rather than the snowfall. I only had the truck for a year or so... I had the frame inspected when i got it and it was ok... It took this last winter for the salt to kill it:thumbsup:
