Good day, all. Happy Toyota truck owner for many years. Had 3 of them and made them last. Rust has always been a problem, but I've still gotten 12-15 year out of each of the first two. The bed on first small pick up rusted completely away. Then I got a Tundra that received a full frame replacement. Now on to a 2016 Tacoma that just received the corrosion rust treatment for 2011-2017 Tacomas. I live in the Northeast so qualified. For those who have received recall letters on this (well, technically, Toyota doesn't call it a "recall"), know that if you have significant frame rust, they will replace the frame. If, like me, your frame is fine with just surface rust, they are applying corrosion compound, but are NOT undercoating your entire underbody or the frame that you can see. You really won't even see what they do, because the compound is applied to the inside of the frame, apparently to keep the rust from eating through. A bit weird - maybe cheap too on Toyota's part, but lets see if it does the job. Anyone else had this situation on 2011-2017 models?

I just had the Corrosion compound applied a couple of weeks ago....I am still going to continue with my yearly Krown treatments. I have a 2014 Tacoma and live in Pennsylvania and my truck sits outside and still NO rust on my frame. The only reason I went for the Corrosion compound treatment was to get the extension on my frame warranty.....12 years I believe so I have 6 more years in case something does happen. I will have to see what happens when I take it to get Krowned again....it looks like they put plugs in the boxed section of the frame where they applied the compound.

Got a new frame on my 04' in 2014. All the welds are rusting as if they never recoated the frame before they put it on my truck. They definitely like to cut corners.
