    Hello, been on the site from time to time to look and learn...
    I recently decided my 06 was ready to upgrade....then I went shopping Holly crap, what a shock 27k for a bone stock AC base model... and you have to order a 6 spd standard trans?
    OH Hell no!!

    So I'm currently in the process of getting my Tacoma refurbished .
    13 years of dents and dings scratches and some surface rust. Your Basic silver V6 4L 4X4 . Replaced H2O pump, valve cover gaskets, front main seal, upper /lower radiator hoses, coolant, tailgate hinges, carpeting, seat covers added, Front bumper skin ,tailgate rub trim and internal stiffeners reglued.
    Did I mention that it was silver? Well it was. It's now going to be Magnetic Gray Metallic.not a cobbed up re spray. A complete color change ...all for 1/10 the cost of the 2018...
    As I type this I'm working off my tablet .... So no pics yet but, I will post some soon..

    OK..so Briefly: the truck ,06 AC purchased new by me. couldn't afford truck payment on a $27K replacement...
    Spoke with My Sons best friend & asked him to give me a estimate....
    Gave him the truck, Around 1000.00 to get stuff ordered..
    I then purchased POR-15 grey, wire brushed off loose rust and coated the inner fenders, front cab corners, and all the Drivers side floor board area and coated that area as well.
    Frame was replaced in 2015 ( a 4 1/2 month ordeal ) Chris is a perfectionist and the attn to detail is nothing short of phenomenal ... The truck is now sporting new front main seal,Valve cover gaskets Power steering hoses. water pump, timing cover gasket done, HELO 9X16" rims, BFG Commercial M&S tires, New Carpeting and Seat covers ...the Paint didnt change in the Engine compartment (YET) the frame was treated to A thorough cleanup and then I applied 2 coats of Permatex Rubberized undercoating..

    As I delved into this more I decided to do some upgrades to the truck as well as revitalizing the body and running gear.I started with the OEM Headlights , 13 years and some fogging on the lenses..So,I purchased a set of .....Toyota OEM Headlights...with a set of Non fan cooled LED inserts from SuperBriteLed.. Also Installing LED markers, Tail lights and Reverse lights .
    I have just recently Had Retinal ( NO, not Rectal....lol) Surgery and am a member of the Nearly Zero Depth PerCepTiOn club...caused by O.L.D. the acronym for Over Long Duration this prompted a better way to see to back up. Enter the after market rear back up camera and viewer... Which I have not decided on yet which one to get...Some suggestions would be welcomed ...keep in mind Money IS an object...lol

    the reassembly began today. the fenders, box, doors and various accoutrements such as gasketing, trim and access items like door hardware are done... Interior and Windshield are next to tackle.Windshield is set to be reinstalled on friday. New rear bumper being delivered on Friday as it stands now.... hoping to drive it home saturday evening...
