If you love an MT then I'd hold out and find one. If I didn't live in a contested city and use my truck as my daily driver + my weekend adventure rig I'd go MT in a heart beat as folks seem to be really happy w/ that setup vs. ATs in general... I went AT simply b/c of the stop/go traffic I'm in for a couple of hours each day. If I didn't live in a city, MT all the way.

Yeah for sure. So OTD, it looks like I'll need to be prepared to spend 37-38k on a new TRD Sport 4x4 DCSB. I'm over here used to financing my 22k car payments.

If this helps I just bought a new 2018 TRD SPORT DC 4x4 Silver. The only added extra from factory was rubber mats included in MSRP. No BS Toyota guard or dealer installed option. I purchased from a dealer here in Florida (Earl Stewart) that does not charge dealer fees which are typically $899 in my area plus other added on misc charges dealers sneak in at the end. Also, the reason I decided 2018 instead of 2017 leftover was a few new options that are now standard - electric rear window (very important when you have dogs) - there are other changes like the front grill, lane assist etc. Price difference when I was choosing between a 2017 and 2018 I found to be negligible.

    MSRP $37,394
    PRICE $34,636
COUPON ( -$500) FRIENDS AND FAMILY
TOTAL PRICE: $36,355.71 OTD WITH TAX TAG AND TITLE

Test drive the hell out of it before you decide to sign on the dotted line. I would suggest you test drive as many as you can before you buy one. High speed, low speed, up hill, down hill, in traffic and out of traffic. Then decide if this truck is for you.

If you want manual trans then buy it now, as soon these will be extinct too like in other manufacturers trucks.

My 17 trd sport has an electric rear window. I'm glad I didn't get a 18. There is a new safety system that flashes and chimes making the truck even more annoying than it is. Btw I bought my truck during the Memorial Day promotional. Got it for 35k. My sales guy told me in confidence I did really well.
