Man, I just bought this Tacoma. 6 Cylinder w/ automatic 4WD Ext cab. I don't really know if it is called a prerunner or what. The gas milage is only 300mi to a tank! I read some threads re: taking out the secondary filter and it looks as if it's gone already; if it was supposed to be between the backfire screen and the K&N filter. The truck runs like a cheetah but sucks gas like Tommy Chong with a full trash can full of petrol. I'm running 285/17s and hope to improve milage with your help. I hope one of you gents have some good advice to offer. I hope you all have the best Christmas this year and warm family ties...Cheers!

You are lucky to get lil over 300 I know some people that can't get above 220 to 250.

Running 285 is not going to help your cause either.

There is not much you can do but change driving habits.

    Welcome to TW

Thanks to all for your input! It appears I am lucky to get the gas milage that I am. I do drive respectfully normal that being no need to go anywhere quickly, but allow following distance and consistancy in pedal pressure to transport myself and bike. Will Turbo charging or other atomization of fuel methods help as long as I drive with the same restraint?
