Hey guys, been lurking for a couple weeks since I bought a 99 Tacoma 2.7L 5 Speed Manual. Decided to make an account as I try to learn as much as I can about them. I have owned Chevys my whole life, so now I get to figure out a different beast. I can't get enough of the truck. Currently has 237k miles, but has been well taken care off, mostly.
So my questions: I've never done any body work before, but that is really all the truck needs right now. (See attached photos). Do you think these dents could be pulled by myself? Any particular method you would suggest? I wouldn't need them perfect, but don't want to look like crumpled paper either when it is pulled out. They don't affect anything besides looks so that isn't a big deal. A shop quoted the last owner at $2k worth of work to get them out.
The one thing I do want to get done is all the scratches. Some have some surface rust starting and others you can still see good metal. What would be your recommendation on fixing these? Fix each scratch individually or do big areas that would include multiple scratches? Planned on just sanding them down a bit and then painting. I haven't done much painting before so I am looking for the best way to avoid any errors showing to easily. The only thing worse to look at in a vehicle besides scratches are bad paint jobs :)IMO

    Thanks guys!

You’d need a stud welder to pull most of those dents out.

What he said ^ would need to be down to metal, pulled out, body filler, primer and paint.
