i just joined a week ago and have already done a few cheap mods such as brighter than stock tail light because the reverse light are fairly dim and the back up camera anytime mod. so there are alot of mods that are cheap but are really great and thats the best part about the forum

I'm planning on getting the 4 cylinder & 4x2. my budget is tight since I'm fresh out of college. would you recommend the v6 over the 4 cylinder?

Yeah. There isn't really even a mpg difference between the two. The V6 can tow, is faster, and is practical in a mid sized truck. The only way the 4cyl would be practical is if you just drive it to work and back and don't go off road or haul anything. But if you did that, then you wouldn't really need a truck.

If budget is tight, maybe a 2016 isn't really the best choice at this time. Maybe buy used and you could get a V6 and 4x4.

ive seen about 24 mpg on a long trip in mine once i cant speak about the 4 banger but the v6 are quick and sound good with a cai. and if you get a truck should be 4x4

I'm mainly gonna use this to commute back and forth from work, but also try to do a little bit of off-roading as well (although I've never done off-roading before, so I'm completely clueless there). I'm just trying to figure out realistically how much off-roading I'm gonna do.

Basically if you're gonna do any off roading at all I'd opt for the 4x4. In my experience at least with my truck, (1st gen) is super light in the rear, and gets squirrely a lot in 2wd. In the rain, dirt roads, etc. So I can't imagine a 4x2 doing very well off road at all. It'd be perfect for commuting and hauling some stuff around, but that'd be about it. I'd opt for the v6 as well. I have a 4 banger in mine and I'm really happy with it personally. But I drove a 2011 v6 the other day and it is an absolute rocket ship compared to my 2.7.
