I am the owner of a 2000 tacoma 4x4. I recently changed the center carrier bearing but the truck still vibrates when I get to 40-45 miles per hour. Saw someone posted a quick fix by making 1/4in aluminum flat bar. Just curious if steel will work as well?

Welcome. There's a number of reasons why you can have that vibration, but according to what I've read here, it's usually driveline related.

Are you lifted? If you are, what lift kit?

Nice truck. When you're diagnosing the vibration, try to isolate what side it's coming from, I.e. front or rear, left or right.

So I guess it's a matter of process of elimination, gonna try the steel flat bar too as well I guess. The CV joint boots are shot as well I am gonna just replace both sides as well and see if that helps

CV boots won't change vibrations, but driveline angles will. Post up some pictures of your CV angles and driveshaft angles

Have you gotten a drive shaft drop kit? Its a spacer and a bolt if I remember correctly. Same goes for the diff drop.

Its called a differential drop kit. These drop kits tend to fix the vibrations caused by bad angles. Just make sure you get a steel kit. I cheaped out and got the $10 ebay ones (I mean its just a bolt and a spacer right? Why would I pay $30 for them if their combined worth is like $0.10?) and when they arrived they were plastic.

Ok so I put 2 1/4 in flat bar spacers on both sides of the center carrier bearing and theres still vibration after 45 mph
