This thread does die quick. Work has been crazy for me so I haven't logged on in a while.

Has anyone put any thought on to when the next meet will be? I'm going to be off weekends until February so I'm down for whenever.

absolutely, she's gettin tired of going with me. Uh, I need to play around in the Jemez, FR604/607 some more, it's a straight shot, but i managed to get us lost last time i went out. Or Cedro again would be cool; does anyone else cut firewood???

Hey Ron it's been a while. We should explore the Jemez on Sunday if your free. I haven't been through FR604 but I know there are some trails and really cool camp spots off of FR376.

Sounds good. I am going to go up there saturday (90% chance) to get firewood. I just got permission to go up on sunday also; if anyone wants to meet up, let us know, either myself or gash. No hot rod's, yahoo's, or trail drinkers; we're probably going up with no itinerary just to explore, and (slowly, painfully) learn some stuff in the Jemez. I am 100% bone stock (dunlops) with the kind of gps that folds, gash runs 32's, I think he has gps. Neither one of us have a winch, but we know our capabilities. There can be some pretty nasty stuff up there, and looks like we might have some slick stuff this weekend, so if you have any questions or concerns, please, please, please don't be skeered to haller at one of us.

Oh yeah, and if there are any other firewood freaks (with permits) that wanna meet up on saturday, lemme know, cuttin is always better (and safer) in groups. GASH, I PM'ed ya.

Hey SouthX, we dont have too much for itinerary.

Gash mentioned off of 376, maybe like peggy mesa or something. (That is about 3 miles north of Gillman tunnels, and to the west); but he may have been talking about 376 North of Fenton too, and that would be great.

You know where La Cueva is? (the restaurant at 4+126). I wanted to travel west from there, and do a big u turn basically to get in south of La Cueva, then find some way down to porter landing. It seems pretty mild, but might be hard to find one of the roads that cuts off of the mesa and goes down to Porter. If that turns out easy, then that would line us right up to hit Peggy too.

Dome road eats up a lot of time; and Bland right now might be a little too much. If the weather gets nasty nasty, there aint no way out of there. That is where I was thinking of to look for wood though.

bland can get pretty nasty when the weather changes, there is a road that cut north west back to ponderosa how ever you spell it thats a nice ride alot of trails that cut off that road, so bascily bland all the way back then head north at the end of the road i might be up for a ride sat depending where you guys go as i will come in from the east side, has any one been to the dome lookout tower?

    Land of the enlightend right?

If we want to get another meet set-up; and we want to do this sooner than later, we're gonna have to think of a great "mild" snow run.

I know that there are some good areas in the Jemez, but we'll probably have to put our heads together in order to keep the run flat and open enough for stockers. I will consider this tomorrow when I run up there with Gash.

the only place that I can think of off hand would be to pick a couple of very short loops right above Fenton off of FR376/FR144 if they're open.
