Gian, I was behind you in that 2nd picture; your rear suspension was flexing very nicely & keeping both rear tires on the ground most of the time. Nice build.

That was the first time my friend in the Xterra has been off roading... He asked me to ride with him to give him some pointers and help him figure out when he needs to use 4lo or locked diff...

I would say he did a good job.

That was his first time?! Wow he drove like an old pro.

And for everyone at the meet that was following me, sorry when we went off trail there after big snoopy. I got a few different paths mixed up and by the time I realized the path I was on went to nothing it was too late and the whole group was already on that path with me.. I dont normally do that ever, I try to follow treadlightly as should all of us. So moral of the story is dont get the idea that was OK.. I apologize.

Dunno why but I prefer shorts. I wear 'em unless I'm at work or there's a strong chance of frostbite. I wore these Mountain Hardware shorts almost everyday for 5 years:

Loved 'em partly because they didn't absorb odors so I could get away with washing them once a week. Finally had to lay them to rest. :(

Put a locker in the rear and you'll be able to do plenty.

Which reminds me, I need to do the gray wire mod sometime soon. I probably wouldn't have had the stupid scare that I had this weekend.

Hoo-boy, do I have a project brewing for you then. Somewhere in there I'm looking at putting in an amp, a compressor, foglights, off-road lights, a CB w/ antenna, and possibly a winch and a 2nd battery. Most likely installing one piece at a time since I'm budgeting this over the year. Any ideas on how to setup the electrical so my battery doesn't end up looking like this:

And a switch bank so my dash doesn't start looking like this:

I'm thinking the CB is first since I want to hear what Gian whispers into the electric ether. Which reminds me, anything in particular I'm looking for in an antenna?

Long story short I can't. Because I would need to switch to a 6 lug axle in the back which means new tires too lol (5lug in the front 6lug in the back)

Well I guess it's time to order just the lines and use my stock pump for now.

Btw. It seems like the weekend so I want to put my post count up so I can be a web wheeler until the odds and ends get here so I can start cutting. :sawzall and welding guy from Pirate:

Aaactually, 5-lugs are already SUA.
Not true, my friend. ;) Yes, would be difficult to get an OEM yota e-locker... but you can still lock that rear end. I think Aussie, lockrite, and a few more make lockers for your truck.

To keep it all organised I would get one of these...

http://www.bluesea.com/products/5028/ST Blade Fuse Block - 6 Circuits with Cover

They really are nice. And I don't mind doing things one at a time, and if you truly know what all you want, I could run wires for everything all at once...

And if you truly want a duel battery setup, I've done a couple and the only way to go is to get an automatic duel battery relay... If you don't you run the chance of the batterys getting into a cycle of charging and discharging and you end up with two dead batteries.
