For manual transmissions. The shifter sits in a ball socket and the shifting gets sloppier as the seat wears. The stock seat is a soft rubber to make installation easy. Marlin makes a harder one using Delrin that requires a special design to pop it in. It'll provide factory shifting action for a long, long time.

I'm going to put a more in depth write in my build thread eventually. Honestly the way I ran the antenna took all of ten minutes. Very easy to undo as well. If you need to see it in person let me know. I snagged some metal the other day to fab a mount but haven't decided exactly where. There was a brief thought about drilling a hole in the bedrail near where the curve toward the tailgate starts. Only because there is access through the inner bed skin but can't figure out how to get a wrench in there.

 

Do ya'll think you're ready for when I come to New Mexico this summer?....

 

Can you throw a lock washer in there and have it tighten itself from the exterior?

After seeing your wiring drawing, I realized exactly what you were doing with the coax and liked the idea. I'm still figuring out the actual antenna mount point. I'd be interested in seeing what your ideas are. Eventually, I think I'll drill holes but until I get some experience with how the SWR sets up on the shape of the truck want to stick with temporary mounts.

Seriously considering running a magnet roof mount and snaking the cable out the sliding rear window or one of the side windows. Just set it up whenever I hit the trail.

I've had a mag mount on the roof before and it works great. Just want to have a more permanent mount this time. I'm lazy and dont want to have to set it up every time i need it. That's why it's taking me so long to finish; don't want to do it twice.

 

Training to be a sensor operator, I'm going to Holloman for 3-4 months to finish my training.

 

Dope man... I had a few friends over there for awhile. My buddy just got stationed at white sands so yeah. You should enjoy the area.

 

Definitely will be taking advantage of it while I'm there!
