Naw, very seriously contemplating. Just working out the homework. You know I like to do things juuuuussssttt rrrriiiiiiigggggghhhhttt.

According to the gear calculators, 35s with 4.62 is equivalent to stock. 4.56 that i have in there is pretty close.

A 1" BL probably ain't worth it since I'd have to redo the bumpers and sliders.

I would have to get some relocation plates for the rear axle to center the wheels in the wells.

I actually have no problem with tubbing but I may get a professional to do it and I'd be anal as shit about making it look like stock.

And finally, I'm thinking a lefty transfer case or a crawl box from Marlin Crawler with the 4.71 reduction so I can have my factory RPMs for daily driving and a good off-roading crawl range.

Oh, and some bushwhackers for a bigger opening and some wheel spacers to take care of the frame rub.

And some Tundra brakes to get the stopping power.

    Maybe next year's project.

You got a manual. I've got one too. I'm thinking about a crawl box so I can have more gearing options :D also a supercharged/turbo 4 banger

I was all gung-ho about a crawl box until I found out Marlin Crawler offers a lefty hilux transfer case. Get a gear drive transfer case and don't have to worry about custom drive shafts.

lol sowwy!!!!! I didn't see you, man.
    I was teasing. :p

Really? I'd think 4.88s would be closer to stock final drive ratio. What size tires came stock on your truck? 4.10s were stock, right? Either way.... 4.56s will be fine since you've got the manual.

    Yeah, don't mess with BL.

A lefty would be frickin epic and I would be stoopid jelly! lol

With an exception or two with 16s, don't you need 17" wheels for tundra brakes to fit??

If anybody is interested in a boot camp style workout, the one I go to is having an open workout this Saturday. It's free, and a good way to try it out. It's at Wells Park on 5th and Mountain from 8am-9:30-ish. For five dollars they offer a pre-workout energy tea and a post-workout protein shake. There is a sign-up for the September Fit Camp on Sunday Sept 8th from 1-5pm at Fuel Good Nutrition, on 4th and Aspen NW. The September Fit Camp is free also, the only cost is if you want the tea or shake.

I just completed the August camp and it was pretty awesome. It's a fun workout but you definitely feel it.

Stock was 265/70R16 and 4.10 gears.

I have to do more research but I thought 16s was what the Tundras came with back in the day. I didn't think the rotor diameter changed, just the thickness.

You know you want a lefty for your new toy...

does turning tires to black wall out count? How bout added snug top rebel.
Hey Silas, nice car! My Mom bought one brand new in 1984, got 250,000 miles plus, and sold it for $1000 about 5 years ago.
I can't even begin to tell you all the hell I raised in that car, took it everywhere trucks could go, climbed hills(that it had enough power for), mobbing through the arroyos, always a blast!
One time, around the age of 15 I had a couple friends with me, and we were out screwing around in the mesa, I dropped off a ledge that trucks could go down, as soon as my front tires dropped off, the body came down on the ledge and dented both sides right under front doors. I thought I was screwed, but my Mom never saw it. Everytime my friends would come over they would laugh about how my Mom never caught it.

Front wheel drive, real lever to switch to 4wd, and then you had six gears, L and 1-5. That car never let us down.

The more I'm looking at it the more I'm convinced that a Marlin Crawler Lefty is the next project. 4.71 reduction should be just right for 4Lo and 35s. Thinking this will happen in early 2014.
