Any for sure locations? Don't know places in Albuquerque. I'm an east coast native :D

Not really sure on exact locations. I just know I see them popping when I'm heading to work in the morning. The balloon launch starts and ends here:

    https://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&so...106.551247&spn=0.176177,0.223846&z=12&iwloc=A

    The Academy is here:

    https://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&so...106.551247&spn=0.176177,0.223846&z=12&iwloc=A

There is a Walmart shopping center you can park at and cross the street to the north and walk around to find a decent viewing spot. Might also want to check the city parks. They built a bunch of them in the arroyos on the east side of ABQ. You get a fairly unobstructed view down to the Rio.

    http://www.cabq.gov/parksandrecreation/parks/city-parks

It is a one-in-a-lifetime spectacle so might be worth braving the traffic and the crowds to see it at the balloon park.

Here's the site for the balloon park

    http://www.cabq.gov/parksandrecreation/parks/balloon-fiesta-park

I don't have any specific recommendations. Like I said, coming down Academy in the morning, heading to work, balloons litter the sky. Traffic can be a nightmare but they've worked on doing park-and-rides to ease the experience.

Lived here all my life. Use to hunt mule deer every chance I got. Haven't hunted though in over 18 years. Probably too late for any hunts this year but can someone tell me where I might look for next year? Not so much for me but for my two son's.

    Thanks In advance!

Sorry, didn't mean to go off into left field. :)

wildlife.state.nm.us is the website for nm game and fish. There might be some hunts that you just buy licenses for, you'll have to check the proclamation.
It's listed under publications, hunting rules and regulations 2013.
If nothing for this year, you can add your name to their mailing list and you'll be ready for next year.

If it was my first time at balloon fiesta, I'd go all the way down to the balloon fiesta fields and watch them takeoff, that's the best way to expierience it, and it is an expierience. It's still pretty awesome to see from a distance, but on the field is where you need to be, trust me, you'll remember it forever!

if youre wanting to go that early in the morning, take plenty of blankets and jackets to keep warm! though 430 is a little over kill actually since if i remember correctly the balloons dont even take off until 630

2 twelve packs would be more than enough, maybe even overkill. :)
