Haha him and my girlfriend! very fitting, I like it. I thought it was a funny story because of the shock I got from them that I already knew the truck

Hmmm, yeah. Somethin' wrong with the truck. Might be the cold and the gear oil not warming up. Might be the rear brakes dragging. Might be the u-joints. Definitely feeling drag when I let off the gas.

yeah something is going on with mine too... not sure if its the cold or I need to replace the belt because I hear a squeak and I also hear a type of "knocking" if you would call it that

    E-locker 3rd from ECGS is 650 + 450 core charge.

    Front 3rd is 600 + 200 core charge.

I haven't seen what folks are asking for used.

An ARB air locker equipped 3rd would be about $1700 + 275 core charge (that includes the cost of the compressor).

This shouldn't be a problem. You should be able to swap over the non-ADD half shaft. Need more research to verify. Silas has done this since he swapped over to manual hubs.

I'm not going to lie. I've had thoughts of swapping in the 4.0

So, Josh, no idea on the used market but with the costs from ECGS maybe start with an offer in the neighborhood of $500-$1000 and see?

You should probably just save yourself some headaches and sell it. But! Before you do, let me take those 4.56 diffs off your hands. ;)

I picked up a rear e-locker axle with 4.10's drum to drum with 90K miles on it out of an '04 TRD DC tacoma for $400. I sold the shafts w/brakes for $150 and the housing for $100 to net myself an e-locker 3rd for $150.

A 1st Gen Tundra sounds about right right now. V8, automatic and decent seating room for passengers. Hmmm, what can I find for a nice price...

I have a "knocking" coming from the rear.. When I first turn it on and go into drive or reverse it knocks, or going over speed bumps every so often, or just when ever it wants to I guess

If you really are interested, now is the time... Let me know. Once the engine is out, we can fix that small hole. ;)

I'd probably PM Silas (Slodgetto) to see what he has to say.

If it were me, I'd probably take the offer or counter at $900 but I don't have a family to think about.

Maybe offer $750. I really have no clue. Do you know what shape the gears are in? Are the housings fairly clean?
