Holy shit dude! Glad your ok. One of the reasons I have a face shield for stuff like that. Even though I have glasses I still wear it.

Good advice! Glad to hear you caught it in time before it caused any permanent damage.

I've had a few close calls with angle grinders/drills and metal shavings so these days i wear thick leather welding gloves, safety goggles AND a clear polycarbonate face shield, and hearing protection anytime I'm working with the grinder. I like to have a dust mask too if I'm making a bunch of cuts, because cutoff wheels turn into a fine dust as they wear down and I'm sure it's not healthy to inhale that stuff.

I've seen Nick "suit" up. He is a safe man.

As pointed out, even with safety gear, shit still happens. Don't hesitate to get stuff checked out if it ain't right.

Alex, glad you caught it in time.

does turning tires to black wall out count? How bout added snug top rebel.
I had the exact same thing happen to me about 15 years ago, installing nerf bar steps on my 96 Ford, on hole wasn't drilled out correctly, so I drilled it out real quick and got a metal shaving in my eye. Went to work the next day with my eye killing me, boss wouldn't let me have day off, worked till about noon then drove to the ER freaking out because my eye was on fire. Four hours later the eye Dr shows up and drilled out the metal and all the rust that had formed in my eyeball. Real crazy watching a dremel with an end mill coming at your eyeball! My bosses were waiting outside when I got out, and they made me finish my workload, worked until 10pm with one eye. One of the worst days of my life! I always wear some type of eye protection, even if it's just my oakleys.

So I'm throwing the idea around of having a topper for the Tacoma. Some body know of anyone selling a snugtop, A.R.E, or LEER? Maybe selling the bed rack due to the change of use needed.

Finally got a chance to get under the truck and replace the UCA bushings that ballooned and adjusted the coilovers a bit.

    Projects still in progress:

    1)Learn how to assemble deutsch connectors (so I can complete #'s 2 & 3)
2)Need to wire up "ditch lights" (already mounted)
3)Need to wire up new light bar on the front bumper (already mounted)
4)Tune CB Radio (have SWR meter, just haven't had time)
    5)SLIDERS :D
6)Buy Beer for Cloudy so he will install the sliders :p
6)Buy Beer for SGTTACO and convince him to help me wire up my URD ECU Module :p (he offered before, just got overwhelmed with work)

    Future Projects:

    1)New Rear Leafpacks
    2)Fiberglass front fenders
3)Some sort of roof rack and 50" LED Bar
    4) TOO MANY WANTS, NOT ENOUGH MONEY!!! :(

I got a LBJ spitting grease. Should I refrain from off-roading until I get a new one swapped in?

Sounds good. I may wire the lights, just have to look online and figure out how to properly install the connectors on the wires. I definitely will need help with the ECU module. How is the project coming along?

I finally did the blinker light relocate mod to the side lights.

Not too hard, but mine is not to clean.

    Oh well!;)

Depends on what you mean by spitting. If the boot is torn wide open, puking grease, and dirt/dust can penetrate the joint, then yes.

If you're seeing a little grease ooze out at the top/bottom of the boot, but otherwise all looks well, then no. I drove on LBJ's that looked like that for 40K miles on my '97, with lots of off-roading along the way.

Hey guys i figured this is the best place the ask this question. Im not from New Mexico never been to New Mexico. Im from Texas and me and some of my buddies were going to Red River for spring break to go skiing. Will the trails be good enough to go wheeling or will there still be to much snow and crap? any help would be appreciated.

There will definitely be too much snow to run the good trails (goose lake, greenie peak, 4th of july canyon, etc). And with it being spring break and all, the place will be absolutely overrun with texans, so yes there will also be far too much crap.

I've got zero experience with aftermarket seats. The few that I've ever sat in were like a good hiking boot... great support, but not soft and comfy.

Yea tom I did not take any pics.

I used a drill which is not the best way to go. Made a hole and then forced them in there.
I do not have OCD but I do have ADD so that may explane the method.
In hindsite I should have borrowed a dremal or somthing like that.
