Hey everyone! I am new to the forum. I live in Santa Fe. I haven't gotten my own tacoma, but will look to buying one when I save up. Although I would love to buy that diesel swapped tacoma I saw on craiglist, but it is not exactly cheap haha.

saw a black 5 lug taco driving yesterday around 4 pm on Montgomery at Louisiana with a x runner kit... definitely look strange. honestly thought the driver lifted the x runner but got closer and saw it was only a 5lug model... but hey to each their own i guess

 

Anyone want to make a trip to Moab and Death Valley?

 

When? I'm planning on heading out to Moab in May for Rock Therapy.

 

Just talking about Jan timeframe, out of the military so wanting to do a roadtrip.

 

Gotcha. Being that the Taco has no wheels, leafsprings and CV's in it, sitting on jack stands, and has the dash pulled apart, for the next few months with massive things planned. So I guess I am out.

 

Cage?

That's to bad guy's. I am kinda iffy about going alone. I have been watching Alot of expedition adventures and that's what I want to do.

 

I wish a cage. but it is more of an expo rig at the moment. But hopefully I'll have everything done by Moab so you can check it out. Here is the breakdown list.........

*Plate rear frame
*New rear crossmembers to make room for a couple storage boxes for a compressor and air tank, and a second box for an on board water tank, both with skid plates.
*Cut and clearance all the fenders
*Plate the body mounts (since I was lazy and never did)
*Fix/replace the busted outer CV boots that I've had for months
*Maybe build some new UCA's
*Remount the improved roof rack and wire in all the lights and Solar panels
*Wire in all new accessories (Left and right alley lights, 50" LED bar, Solar panels, Air Compressor, Hella Lights behind grill, Pro Comps on bumper, rock lights, and rear Led's mounted in bumper)
*Build mounts on rear bumper for the LED's
*Clean up all wiring
*Mount all switch panels
*Fiberglass new switch panels that are replacing the sunglasses holder and temp display on the celing
*All general maintenance
*Clean out the whole thing
*Adjust and remount the spare tire carrier

I think that is about it.

 

Come to Rock Therapy in May and head out with us. Also check out Expedition Portal. A lot of us are on there also with the same usernames.

 

I am on the Expedition Portal myself, guess i need to browse more. I wont be out here in may because I am heading back to GA at the end of Jan.

 

Gotcha. Well drive from GA.....there are a bunch of guys that will be cruising through there on the way to Utah in May.

 

Anyone here in ABQ/NM area have a 4th Gen 4runner? I need to test fit some parts I am making and my 4th Gen is in CA until Feb. They are some light bars I am fabricating to sell. They are very simple and bolt on, won't take but an hour, and won't need to do anything to your rig but take off 4 nuts just for a moment. Thank you!!!!

Well if my girlfriend hasn't found a job yet I just might do that so I can visit her and head to Moab.
