here we go. Ford 9" rear after breaking 5 sets of gears in the stock yota 8.8, 5.13 gears with a detroit hard locker, 63" chevy leafs and custom hangers, sky's front spring hanger with sky's extream hysteer and PSC hydro assist ram and PSC pump. welded front spyders in the f-550 front dana 60 with warn hubs, pico brake lines and hoses, elecrtic fan, TRD supercharger with URD 2.1 Pully, URD Map-ECU2 and cage built by me. wide band a/f by inovations, lots and lots more...........
huge diffrence in how they work look it up and it will tell you. try putting an O2 sensor in your tacoma and see how it runs also o2 sensors ar about $20 and airfuel ratio sensors are about $300 why do you think that is?

an afr sensor for the innovate wideband gauge I have runs 80 bucks..... if you want to get technical there is a difference between what they call the o2 sensor.... there is a wraf sensor and that is the one you may be referring too but they don't cost anywhere near $300... don't know where you buy your parts from but I would recommend changing.... the wraf sensor works as what you are referring to as an AFR sensor..... it's a wideband sensor in other words.... o2 sensors are roughly about 40 bucks for my truck so I will give you the 20 dollar lee way... lol. jk bro.... but yeah the wraf sensor might be what you are referring too and that comes stock on our trucks..... as far as calling it an o2 sensor is still correct though because it is still reading oxygen..... or exhaust.... the purpose of those sensors is to read and calibrate the ecu and determine how it's running in closed loop if i'm not mistaken (please correct me if i'm wrong) i'm gonna look that up after this..... so in other words it is still an o2 sensor because it is reading oxygen.... so it's not incorrect just more commonly used since they do look a like.... but work differently.

They are almost the same. an o2 sensor is slow and not ment fot a wide band reading. the ecu does not require a fast reading after the cat so it uses an O2 sensor after the cat but an AFR sensor before the cat so it can adjust the ECU for air fuel ratio as quick as posible the O2 sensor also puts out around 450MA were the AFR wideband sensor puts out 0-5V so running a narrow band O2 were a wideband AFR sensor should be wont work..... the voltage is totaly wrond thust the AFR sensors cost more even know they look alike they use different circutry, but im refering to the AFR stock sensor that is from toyota for bank 1 it is a AFR sensor and they cost way more than an aftermarket sensor ask autozone... if you dont belive me on price here is the sensor for my truck lol that is what i mean.

lol... got it... yeah I was like umm... the sensor is 80 bucks for my wideband gauge.... as far as the afr sensor goes yep they do work differently but both work off the same type of reading which is oxygen/exhaust..... it's funny because on our trucks.... it has the o2 sensor after the cat and the wraf sensor before the second cat..... so in all honesty I don't know exactly how that would read accurately but I guess toyota made it work properly.... I just wish I could rid of all my cats and put a bung where my y-pipe meets.... I can't put it there since the mixture won't be the same as it is before the cats..... the readings will be pretty far off.... so as of right now I am only gonna be able to read one bank which is lame since I would want to read both to keep my engine safe but I have learned enough about this engine to know which side would be the safer of the two....
