How about some soft roading down near Cloudcroft? I recall someone posting about some good trails around that part of the state. My pink slip will be staying out of things though. :D

More immediately, I'll be out on my own shooting on some blm territory in sandia park Friday morning, and with some coworkers Saturday morning, if anyone wants to show up. Saturday I'm hoping to get a clay launcher out there.

LOTS of wiring, dual battery setup, Solar charging system, with some random lights spread around here and there.
I checked when I needed mine done and they told me no, cause the pressures we run are too high.

Told you of a couple of places. Forest Road 223 across from the blue house about six miles out the Sun Spot highway.

I want to mount a fire extinguisher in my truck. I'm interested in how others accomplished this. My truck is a regular cab, but there might be room behind the seat; otherwise it would have to go in the bed, probably close to the tailgate to be easily reached. All ideas are welcome. :)

Also, does anyone have suggestions as to a good-quality jumper cable set? I've seen prices all over the board, but I don't want cheapies.

As for jumper cables, I bought mine over a decade ago. Went to one of the auto parts stores and got the largest gauge available. I've used them once or twice since purchasing them. Still work fine.

If any of you guys walk your dogs in the Bosque, keep an eye out for porcupines.

They seem to be very active lately... one of my dogs got 100+ quills yesterday, and BOTH dogs got several dozen quills today.

does turning tires to black wall out count? How bout added snug top rebel.
I used to run into a totally black porcupine in the early mornings walking the dogs. That porcupine would walk up to me and the dogs with no fear, luckily I saw it before the dogs, and I could get the dogs rounded up before the porcupine would walk up to us. What always tripped me out was the dogs never lost their minds, just stood next to me wondering wtf. That went on for a couple weeks, all the dogs that we saw regularly got hit by the porcupine, my dogs never did.

Your dogs must be a lot smarter than mine. Two days in a row for my blue nose... I walked by her on the couch today after I pulled the quills and asked her how it felt to be so dumb.

My biggest box turtle thinks he can take on a roadrunner, dumb reptile mf. Tries to hunt white-winged doves, too. Delusions of grandeur, obviously.

Sorry for your pups, that had to hurt. :(

I have formed my opinion and that is, A/Ts suck. Although, I am learning to use the gear positions better.

Part of it is my mtb mentality. I'm always thinking ahead to what gear I want to be in, especially when coming into a climb. Just way more control. Nothing sucks like lugging up a hill and mashing the gears causing excessive wear.

@NMroamer thanks for the suggestion about 223 trail up in Cloudcroft. Ran the entire thing today. It's really nice up there when you are next to some of the clearings. Got my truck stuck at the end when I turned around though for like an hour ha. Ended up getting it out by myself. Fun stuff

Glad you liked the trail. Must have been raining a lot. There are alot of trees that get struck by lightning near the end. Place is a magnet for lightning.

I posted this in the flea market forum, but figured it might get more attention here.

Hello guys, long time lurker here. I hate to ask this, but does anyone in the ABQ area have a spanner wrench to adjust icon2.5s? I seem to have lost mine, and really need one sometime tonight so i can get it to my mechanic in the morning. So if anyone is willing to let a stranger borrow a tool for a few days, or would sell me one, plz shoot me a PM.
