So I'll try to get ahold of my buddy in Auto theft and ask him to keep an eye out for it. Can you send me a picture of it? And anyone in the block up there have any security camera's?

Yeah man, thats dogshit cowardice. Post up some pics and I/we would be happy to keep an eye for it.

I'm sorry to say, but the unfortunate truth is that it's probably already joy-ridden into shit by now. Do you have anything to get around town in?

I didnt steal it, I promise! thanks for making me feel like a bastard, BTW. Hitting you up yesterday and all..

my buddy had his 4 runner stolen downtown a few years ago. The folks that stole it basically partied in in for a few days, someone shit in the back, and they parked it close to where it was stolen. Crappy enough for him, it was "recovered", and gifted back to him after a detail and paint buff. He was also pretty heartbroken to have it back, but the insurance gave him some sort of settlement check too. If it was me, I'd hope it ended up torched and flipped down a mesa. I would be mad as phuq every time i got in the thing. Obviously, let us know if we can help at all.

Haha don't feel bad, need to sell more parts now to help offset!!!

I heard about a Mesa at the end of Rainbow Blvd in RR and someone said there were new cars people had launched off. So I drove out there hoping to find my pig. A new Cadilac and some other cars but no truck. Would have made for some good closer and a fun story. Was ready to hike down there to see it haha. At least I got to do some off-roading in my wife's 4Runner.

I'm a Chevy Cobalt driver for the next couple weeks haha.

If Chris's truck was a Powerstroke, or one of the easy vehicles to rip off, I would be looking all over the south valley, mesas, nine mile hill, etc. But to me these weren't punk kids, more like professionals. I highly doubt Chris's truck will ever be recovered.
My cousin has had three powerstrokes ripped off from his house, first one was recovered a few miles away minus wheels tires and stereo. Second was found in some mountains in Mexico, all shot up with a ton of blood in it. They had to keep making payments for six months until a recovery company went and retrieved it, and the insurance finally wrote it off. The latest was a month ago, truck was found three days later, stuck on a ditch in the south valley.

Check out the rear tires, these kids were doing burn outs for days, they were like new.

Damn!!!!! I hear Fords are high profile and super easy to steal... Maybe he needs to get a different truck this time... That really sucks.

I sure hope I don't get to see my truck like that... Started looking at trucks a little bit last night just to see what is out there. Nothing like the deal I got on the last one. Not trying to get too deep into it case it shows its face, haha.

That's where our Chevy 2500 was found abandoned in the south valley when it was stolen a few months ago. Ours was the third to get stolen on our street. Funny thing is they debadged it, gave us a color matched grill, put a stock radio in and wired it all (took our old shitty aftermarket one out thank goodness), took our tires off and put matching semi-alright tires on, and tinted our front windows. Looked better when we got it back! Felt really weirdly violated driving that thing every time after though like a pit in my stomach

After looking at out security camera there was a slammed chevy that pulled up, dropped someone off, and within a minute they stole our truck. So they just took all the stuff they wanted for their truck and switched out. But yeah I am pretty sure they were planning on keeping it longer as there were drugs, mail, jewelry, and report cards all in the backseat. No one was charged weirdly enough.

That's what else is scary is that they have been scoping the truck for awhile and once the neighbors were gone and us they stole it in day light.

Ridiculous that no charges were filed!!

This is the biggest problem, very little recourse for their actions. Everyone makes mistakes, and does the wrong thing sometime, I feel that everyone deserves a second chance, minus murder rape etc. But that's it, no third or fourth or fifth. It's just ridiculous how our court, prison systems are, people go on drug induced crime sprees, police chases, released next day to do it again. Our state actually has a three strikes law, commit three felonys and you can be sentenced to life. This sounds great to me, but it's only been used a handful of times since being signed into law. I don't want repeat criminals on the streets, but the courts and prosecutors don't even try to use this tool.

I'm just pissed, I'm tired of thieves, all criminals really, I don't have the answers. I just know that if you've screwed up enough times you should not be allowed to be in regular society.

Yeah it was kind of upsetting because we found papers in there with names and addresses, but we figured that there are so many car thefts its hard for law enforcement to keep up with it all and once one is found they try to move on to the next (my thinking). I heard on the news the other night that Albuquerque ranks No. 2 in the country per capita for car thefts, which really wants me to take all preventative measures for my trucks safety.
I believe that law should be used too, it's really exhausting and time consuming having to worry about things being stolen all the time.

At least receiving stolen property charge. Make people think about buying hot stuff. There aren't enough LEO concentrating on theft, another thing I don't have the answer for.

I 100% am going to work on stepping up my prevention measures. Some things are gimics and some are more serious. I want to make it so my truck isn't taken in the first place...

I'm on board with the 'I hate thieves' bandwagon. I work my balls off for everything my family has and will continue to do so(as I'm sure all of you do too); its very aggravating that some jackass who doesn't have a job or give two shits about the world can just take your stuff and nothing happens.

On the Chevy my dad installed some box (kinda like a kill switch) that requires you to press a button to get the truck to start. The thing is above the area where you can hot wire and also in a place you cannot get to/see so no one can tamper with it an unhook it. Also put a gps tracker in it as well. Kinda pricey but with liability insurance, as the truck is hardly used, its worth it when you wont get it replaced by insurance.
