Right when I heard the hail on the roof I ran out with some old comforters and moving boxes and covered both mine and fiancés civic. I got one dent on the roof and she got two on the trunk. That marbled sized hail hurt but worth saving our vehicles haha

I don't think I got any hail down in Nob Hill, but my truck is pretty clean this morning! I did get one lightning strike so close that it shut off power for a moment.

I got caught in it on Wyoming near I-40, turned around and tried to avoid it. When it stopped, we got on the I40 and traffic was moving 20mph, ice cubes all over the road and floating down in streams on the shoulders. When we got home later, looks like it hit my house near uptown pretty hard. Maybe a couple tiny dents to my wife's car, but our back porch with a metal roof has hundreds of dents in it. The paint on the underside of it flaked off with every dent.

MojaveMadMan and I were up at BJ's Brewpub last night. Plenty of lightning and a good shower but no hail. This is some odd weather for this time of year.

I heard a weird noise inside the house. The front door was open and I walked out onto the patio area. I could hear a roar coming from the south and thought at first it was rain. Then a couple of hailstones landed on the ground when it hit me what I was hearing. I ran back into the house and yelled to my wife that if she has anything she didn't want destroyed by hail to get it under cover NOW. We both started carrying plants and some other more delicate items under the eves and onto the back patio. After a minute marble and larger hail were coming down so hard it hurt when they hit. She got it on her back and I took one on the head so we pulled back. There was still hail in the back yard last night. Glad the vehicles were in the garage.

Yes they are. Albuquerque is number 2 in the US for stolen vehicles. Do NOT live in the SE area from SanMateo east or anywhere near UNM. Downtown is probably ok except close to central.
A large dog will help but there is a gang running around right now that has killed a dane in the east mountain area. 5k reward for that and the cops may have got the guy and some of the gang.
North campus UNM is pretty safe. Put your truck in a garage. I didn't used to carry a gun in my vehicles but I do now. I had a homeless type reach into my BMW and try and get anything he could.
I also had someone try and steal my BMW north of Denver from my hotel parking lot, nothing to do with ABQ but the asshole sure was surprised when I came down with a 9mm protection device.

What's the group's opinion on anti-theft/recovery devices that work in this area. I saw @Whitecloud 's comment on LoJack vehicles having a good recovery rate. However at that point it's already been stolen and possibly trashed. Any thoughts on the Ravelco? Any other options worth considering?

One of the main reasons I sold my '93 Toyota Pickup was that it would end up sitting in the driveway instead of the garage. I figured at some point it would become a target of theft or burglary. Sad this city has become such a property crime magnet. If you haven't voted already remember this when you do.

LOTS of wiring, dual battery setup, Solar charging system, with some random lights spread around here and there.
It is stolen at that point but the faster that an Officer can get to you and get it into the system the faster that LoJack will be alerted and the faster that Officers will be hunting it down around the city. The thing with LoJack in the city is the way the call comes out is it allows Officers that are equipped and trained in the system to leave the call that they are on and go to find the car. It is a god set up if we can get notified within the 1st 30 minutes or so.

anybody want some good condition coverking covers and/or rear dbl cab weather tech liner? Solid deal for NM guys/gals.

Theft is bad here, period. The problem is, is that most folks will sneak around when you're not here, and the other bunch is willing to take extreme measures (i.e. killing pets, homeowners, etc), to get what they want, even if it's just a thrill.

I work in the trauma ICU here, and I can tell you the number of violent crimes that hospitalize people is absolutely out of control, and likely not accurately reported by the media.

@FamouzStarz shoot me a text, I'll get you pics, etc. Been on my truck for about three months, sold it yesterday. They're the neosupremes, black with grey inserts. Fronts are perfect, back has a small knick in it from a motorcycle sprocket when my buddy tried to smash a rear wheel in the back. clean, no stinky (I don't think, but thats fixable with a wash). all buckles and fittings intact. 575-64o-3413. I wanted 225 shipped, I'll do them 200 local.

    Liner gone, John. sorry.

I'll split them up no problem if I've got two buyers.. I just don't wanna get stuck with half a set.. @Jmad92

I got absolutely smoked the mat. I sold it to a guy in San An for 60 bucks, cost me frigging 35 dollars to ship.
