Not a whiskey drinker myself, but Two Fools Tavern would be my best bet. I go there for the fish and chips.

Last time I was out at Rib's in Cedar Crest, there were bottles of Lagavulin, Oban 14 and Oban Distiller's Edition sitting on the top shelf. Don't know otherwise as I usually just pick up a bottle from Kelly's or Total Wine. Doing a quick search of "scotch bar albuquerque" shows Two Fools in Nob Hill coming up in several top 10 lists.

Another vote for Two Fools here; the owner is a good friend of mine, and a very decent human being. They also keep some of the glasses/mugs on a very high shelf, causing the waitresses to have to reach up quite a bit to get them. Depending on where you sit, it can be a nice show. :burp:

So, this morning, going to work, a young man in a Dodge Durango SUV turned left in front of me, from the right lane of Lead, at Stanford (I was in the left lane). No warning. I hit him hard, right at his driver's side rear wheel; didn't leave any skid marks, probably due to the ABS & short notice. My poor truck's sheet metal at the passenger-side front corner got squished. Frame looks OK, and the front wheel appears to still be centered in the wheel well. Radiator survived, and I was able to drive the truck home. My passenger side front fender got shoved back into the door, which won't open now. The door itself does not appear to have moved rearward. My new light bar appears to have survived as well, but I didn't try it to see. I am filled with sadness for my little truck; I bought it brand-new, and expect it to last the rest of my life. :pout:

Cops were called, but never showed up. A 2nd call was made, and I was told that there were no officers in the area who were available. Oh well. The guy had insurance, thank goodness, and was not a douchbag & acknowledged his mistake. No one was hurt, & no airbags went off. No witnesses stopped, though, either.

Pigger, I'm just happy you're ok, the guy didn't road rage on you and actually owned up to the mistake. Hopefully, the insurance will pay to fix the golden goat up, good as new.

No road rage. He saw me move my 9mm to the seat to get at my insurance paper, and he stepped back a bit. I was pretty pissed off, but kept my shit together. No yelling by either party.

The truck is repairable, I'm sure, just sheet metal damage AFAIK; these are tough trucks. It drove straight & true taking it back home, from what I can remember, although I was pretty rattled. I have full coverage on my truck, so all is OK there, although his insurance should pay it all, including my deductible. I have an appointment to get it looked at for insurance purposes on Tuesday next week.

Chris, I'm afraid that I won't be going shooting on Friday after all, sorry. I was going to go wheeling on Sunday as well, but that's out now.

If I had been on my motorcycle, I might have been killed. Things could be a lot worse.

    "Golden Goat"; LOL. :D

I just got home from work, and looked at my truck. Man, it looks worse than I thought. I know it'll buff right out & be fine again, but right now, it's depressing.

But... both headlights still work, although who knows where they're aimed; the passenger turn signal is out (that housing is shattered) but the rear works on that side; still no leaks from radiator or anywhere; tire is holding pressure; haven't tried to open the hood yet & probably won't. I have a gig Saturday night out at Molly's Bar in The Canyon, and I think the truck will get me there & back OK.

Filed a police report after work & got a copy to my ins. co. (the young ladies at both places were quite presentable! Hubba-Hubba!!), and the truck gets an insurance inspection Tuesday am. I have a friend who owns a very good body shop here in town, & hopefully State Farm will let him do the work; he gets it right.

I know in AZ, by law, you got to pick where. The insurance companies had their "preferred" list and could recommend them but ultimately was consumer's choice. Hope it is the same here.

    Arizona Leave Me Alone-a

I think that's what I was told this morning, but the woman on SF's 1-800 line had a serious southern accent & there was a lot of street noise at my end, so I'm not sure.

    *posts something political, but reconsiders*

Yah two fools is awesome for beer and food. Whiskey/tequila selection is good, but the tide can be a little low at times.

Anyone have some rigid pods and want to hang out for 20 min!? haha. Wanted to see something with a set and how they may fit some parts I have... Wouldn't take but a few min just to slide them into my mounts and take a look.

Truck repair estimate is around $3800. It goes to the shop Monday (Fox Automotive). I should probably take off the front light bar before I take it in. It's going to feel strange being without a truck for a bit.

Thanks, Chris; I just got it all modded up the way I wanted, and then this happens. I guess you can identify with that, right?
