    WHO WANTS TO GO OUTSIDE!!!!

I will move this to the Adventure Thread when something gets nailed down. But it's supposed to be in the mid 70's and sunny this weekend. I HAVE TO get out. Trail run, hiking, trail run to hiking. Who wants to do some stuff!!!! Will be this weekend, may have an overnight option.

I figured you were already on your way to CA, Chris. I have some plans on Friday, but Saturday is wide open. Depending on the agenda, I may be up for a trip. I would say an overnight would be unlikely for me, but not impossible.

Chris, sorry for not getting back to you today, I didn't have a free moment until late tonight.

I'll be busy tomorrow as well, and have not had time to sit down and put together any options. We are right at the start of the thaw, so most trails will be muddy and/or snowy. My daughter and I took a ride up the north side of the Sandias through Placitas today and it was dry up to about 7500 feet, then the road got pretty sloppy.

There are options to the south that would be more accessible and offer some decent wheeling. Gordy's Hill OHV area has a lot to offer and I have wanted to check it out for a long time, no trees though. We could try to make a run up South Baldy in the Magdalena range or Mt. Withington (again, snow likely), and San Lorenzo canyon would be worth a repeat as a backup plan. The Salinas Pueblo Missions would be cool (I have only see one of the three sites), but there is no wheeling involved. Mt. Taylor would be fun but will be muddy/snowy and we likely wouldn't make the top. If you want to get the adrenaline flowing, we could go climb Cabezon Peak (think Cerro Pedernal, where Rene almost fell off the cliff, but bigger rock climbing sections).

All of the northern mountains are still snowed in, Glorieta Mesa will be a muddy mess, Dome Road is still closed, and La Bajada is now off limits.

The only other thing I can think of would be the old standby... Jemez. All the forest roads that offer less crowds (376, etc) will be closed through 4/15, so that would be pretty much a pavement cruise.

If you just want to go for a hike, I have several favorite trails right in the Sandias. Google some of the options and I'll check with you tomorrow night.

    Pics from today...

This Dodge apparently spent a long winter abandoned up in the Sandias...

Turnaround point. I didn't feel like washing the truck for 2 hours just to have 30 minutes of fun in the mud.

Thanks Nick!!! I'll look into a few of these and be ready for tonight. Trees aren't mandatory, just more symbology for let's go somewhere cool. Thanks for the reply and let's get it sorted!!! I'm feeling excited, just need to get my truck back from Quanz today. They have it to finish my last theft repair, just needed new wiring for the rear view mirror camera...

Well Quanz had my Taco two days to fix my backup cam and temp sensor, left over from the theft. Called me to pick it up, all done....

Neither item works... oh ok we will try again... mirror didn't have a screen and no idea why temp doesn't work. Their problem...

Yo. Short driving distance places to shoot outdoors from Albuquerque where it is free or small fee? Never been to the shooting range park and it looks to be closed today and tomorrow. Anywhere besides the Manzanos?
