Yup! Was the first outlook over the valles Cordera national reserve. Would love to have a place up there. We loved it.

Does anyone want some bullhead catfish? Have 4 in my tank that are getting a little big. About 5ish inches long. The are pellet trained as well as eat anything else (live, dead, meat pieces, crawfish, whatever fits in their mouth and then some). Let me know if you have a pond or know someone. Pretty awesome fish! Just out growing my tank

Getting my parts in today so going to start this process this weekend. Barely squeezed my truck into the garage. There is only 32 inches between the drum and the wall though.. Damn damn damn looks like I will be working in the driveway. Hesitant about using it because it has just a bit of incline but since I am not taking both rear tires off just gotta chalk the shit out of the other 3 tires!

"Chalk" won't work since it will crumble, but "chocks" will keep your truck from moving on the incline. :D

I would expect that to be "sketchy".

We'll got my parts. Gunna give it a try tomorrow! Guys have a recommendation for a place for pressing the new bearing? I'll call Larry H in the morning and see what their labor cost is

If you want, bring it back on over. As for pressing parts, Napa might be a decent option.

Yeah I found a few NAPAs auto cares around me and they aren't open on Saturdays!

I'm tempted but I think I'll be fine here. Been reading up extensively and think I know what I am doing and seems pretty alright of a job! Also going to be replacing my brake shoes, and change wifeys oil so it'll be a longish day and need to be at the my house at 4:30

edit found another napa place and they are open today

okie dokie. Shoot me a text or call if you need any advice. Should be straight forward like you said. Hardest part is going to be lining the splines up to get the axle back in. So, yeah, if you know how to put things in holes, should be fine.

Well axle is back on! Drum is still off for brake shoes tomorrow.

Started off with struggling to get the drum off by hitting it. Tom told me to buy some screw that fit in the drum holes and crank them in. What do you know, felt like a dumbass because the drum popped right off after about 2 seconds of work.

Took the axle to NAPA, they said they can't do Toyota because it needs something special to get the bearing off and pressed. Called other places and either same thing or closed for the weekend so went to Larry H Miller. They quoted me $218 when I got there (they didn't understand the axle was off the truck for the first quote), so dropped it off.

Did the rear diff breather relocate mod - super simple and should've done that long ago to prevent this. Changed wifes civic oil.

Got a call saying axle was ready. Went to pick it up they said they had to put a new skid control rotor on and it was $70. I knew something else was going to come up at the dealership that I had to pay more for. So 326.80 later I have my axle with all the shit on it. woot I guess?

Its been an expensive learning experience though! Wish I did not have to change that bearing and it would've been a lot better. Now hopefully it does not leak

The 218 makes much more sense. After seeing your quote, and looking at my credit card bill, I think it came down to $150 in labor per axle and $150 in parts. I've been a customer there for quite awhile so they threw in some sort of a discount. So the $218 is more reasonable.

Also, keep in mind, with the $218, if they screw up the pressing, they should be buying you new parts.

Did you only do one side or ended up replacing both? Byjoshcook said his passenger one blew a couple months after he replaced the driver side. Is that related? Might just do it so I don't have to spend more money later, but if you only did one side then..

Another week update. Passenger has settled down another half inch to 39" tall. Thinking it will settle even a little bit more

Related, sort of. Both have the same number of miles on them. End of life isn't going to be too much different between the two.

Nice. Hoping it settles in just fine. I like wrenching but doing re-work sucks.

True, will buy new seal and replace that. Then change the rear dif fluid and rear shoes on passenger side then tighten both rear brakes.

My trail gear low profile tube bumper comes in tomorrow! Bought the weld on light bar so going to need that welded on. Also want to get some filler plates made and welded in as well. @Whitecloud could you fab these up and weld the light bar on like below?

    upload_2017-8-28_19-35-23.jpg

I guess like this too but not on top of the tubes
