Yeah black and white would look good and the black on black. I kinda wish we had a Texas style plate - the plain white one. It's boring but doesn't clash.

Yeah I do love my yellow plate - changed it from my NMSU one last year, which looked good because of the silver but the crimson turned purple so did not like that. I'll photoshop it on my truck and see what I like - can only find digital renderings of the chile plate, gunna have to sneakily take a picture of someones plate in a parking lot

I like the wildlife one, I know the buck on there is the NM non-typical record but a nice symmetrical muley would look better to me, and then would love the RGCT design (better than that bass) but it's on that turquoise which does not go with anything :angrygirl:

Yeah I seem to be picky about my plates

@WildLand; love your unicorns!!! :dancingbacon:I guess I'd never seen that before.

My plate was once yellow, I think. It's so faded now it could be any colour, really.

On another topic entirely, while I've been really enjoying the light that my LED bar puts out, I want more light out really far, spot-light type beam, very focused for long distance, in addition to the flood of light from the bar. Probably 2 big round lights would work. Anybody have any suggestions? Doesn't have to be cheap. Maybe I can get Jon to fab up some kind of mount for them so they don't bounce around on dirt roads.

I have a set of IPF 968s that started life as 100W halogens, but I converted them to 35W HIDs. They are stupid bright and have a very long throw. If you bought some decent pencil beams and converted them, I'm sure you'd be happy. The HID kits are cheap, too, maybe $40-50.

    HEADS UP, ALL!

Not sure if anyone is looking for wheels, but there's a guy selling 4 x SCS F5 16x8 4.5" BS in Matte Dark Bronze on c-list right now for $350. I contacted him and it's a set of four wheels, NO lugnuts, and he says he's got a lot of interest with the ad being up for less than a day now.

    email > fjtkf-6443636632@sale.craigslist.org

Good luck if anyone is interested. I'm considering them myself.

    Happy New Year!

Well, I took care of that problem for you and bought them. I'm not quite sure what I'm going to do with them yet.

One wheel has a slight bend on the inner lip that I didn't catch until I got home. Contacted the seller and I think he was genuinely unaware. He said they all held air no problem, but I'm going to look into having it repaired and have it checked for runout at Discount.

Getting a post Xmas bonus and thinking of getting a Icon Stage 1 set up. Really don’t want to spend the money on them but better to get something decent off the bat instead of going the 5100 route. At least that’s the way I’m thinking as of right now ha ha. 1330 shipped to my door. So should I pull the trigger? And if I do would anyone like to help install if I provide food and drinks???

That sounds like a pretty good price. Install is pretty easy too. IIRC, the stage one is the Coilovers and rear shocks? No, AAL?

Ya standard coil overs up front and 2.0 in the rear no AAL. I figure level it out for now and or add a 1 inch block until I save up for Dakar’s.

Congrats on the bonus. I would definitely endorse that plan. I wish I had the foresight to have just gone straight to coilovers with my build. It would have saved me lots of time and energy.

It's hard to choke down the initial cost, but you'll be glad you did. As far as install, I might be game depending on date / time / location. Post back once you've got it all sorted.

BTW, I re-listed the SCS F5s at a loss. It's going to take more energy than I want to expend to make them work for my needs, so someone take them, please.

Yeah, I don't know what the last guy hit to bend the one wheel... as I understand it, the F5s are pretty tough. The other three are fine. My dumb ass should have looked closer before shaking hands on the deal.

It's a good deal for someone who is willing to pick up a 4th wheel and has some time to lay a few coats of paint. I looked into repair and the cost is equal to that of a new wheel. For a wheeling rig, the bend is small enough that it may not even matter.

id take them for my 3rd gen but 35s on 16s are limited tire choice. id get the blemished on they have listed and send them all to OMF. the offset is keeping me back from that. with they where -38mm. what did the guy have them on before?

I'm not sure what type of vehicle they were actually installed on when the bend occurred. The guy I bought them from had a lifted GX470 sitting in his garage. He told me he bought the wheels with 285s on them, sold the tires to a friend, and that the wheels sat in his garage for the last year and a half. He planned to use them on an 80 series, but sold that vehicle.
