Exactly what I was thinking. It seems like the vehicle shipping industry has changed a lot over the last few years. Too many people running scams that made it difficult for legit shippers.

Thanks for the reassurance. Sometimes I feel like I'm crazy for doing that (mostly because my wife keeps telling me that, lol). But shipping quotes were pretty ridiculous then when you add in how they handle the vehicle like you talked about, it adds so many other potential issues. My brother was telling me about a guy he knew with a twin turbo viper that was shipping to a tuner. The shipper took it to a dealership and sold it! In the end, the drive will be long, but definitely worth just having it in my possession the whole time. Plus, like you said, I'll get to know most of the little nuances of the vehicle along the way.

My dad always buys cars out of state - flies out then drives them back. One time he bought a mini in Florida so we both flew out and made a little drive back vacation out of it. 2 days in a mini was not the most comfortable thing but it was cool just seeing parts of the country I would never see flying over

Thanks guys. I appreciate the kind words.

@WildLand Do you happen to have any of your stock suspension parts after you installed your OME kit?

I do not unfortunately! I wish I did, I would've just given it to you. Except I re-used the top hats so probably would not have been too useful. I do have one stock coil though if needed

It lasted like 10 minutes then the sun came back out for the rest of the day

Man I was in Dexter a couple weeks ago and it was like 20 something in the morning and high 70s late in the day. Crazy temp shifts

Yeah it's crazy down here. I gotta pack my closet when I go to work because I never know what the weather will do this time of year.

I just ordered a new rear driveshaft for my little goat; I neglected to keep it lubed properly, and it's started to vibrate badly, especially under acceleration or at speeds over 90. :bananadead: Went with a Doorman part; I hope it is of decent quality.

I suspect that the recent river crossings may have exacerbated the issue. :mudding:

    I have too many Toyotas...
Everything... and a bag of Cheetos.
I would be curious to stop by and check this thing out, but Saturday is going to be the nicest weather that we've seen so far this year. I'm thinking I'll be out of town with the family somewhere.

I've not had good luck with Dorman parts in the past. A set of their LCAs cost me a set of front tires due to substandard bushings. I'd hang on to your stock shaft and look into local rebuild options as a backup. I have heard good reviews on a shop called "U-Joints, Inc" down on Edith for driveshaft and diff work.

    Mills canyon got us good!

Like Nick said, look into UJoints. I’ve had a Drive Shaft worked on by them in the past and they were really good. Good work and quick as well

Thanks for all the input; I'll keep the olde one as suggested. I bought a grease gun finally, but I only found one zerk fitting, near the rear u-joint. Are there any more on a regular-cab driveshaft?

It sure did! I still have one of those nasty stickers from there stuck in my finger, haven't gotten it out yet. Those are the worst goatheads/stickers I've ever encountered. :annoyed:

He's not doing any shock rebuilds. Anyone heard of A-1 equipment??
