It's from all those guys working the oil fields. They have more money than they know what to do with.

Yeah I believe I am diagnosing it right, only when I'm going about 25mph and goes away with 4 wheel drive. I'm getting an alignment Friday so we'll see if anything changes. I didn't want to order the bushing until I found a tool, do you think I can borrow yours when the bushing comes in?

    Thanks for the response!

    Hey all,

There is a 4WD event coming up in late May (weekend after Memorial Day) out near Grants... NMOHVA's 2019 Seven Trails of Gold Event. It's put on by NMOHVA and NM4W. You don't have to be a member of either to register & attend. There are only 50 spots for 4WD vehicles (event includes motorcycles, ATV/UTV, and 4WD vehicles) and it looks like about 40 left... registration opened today.

I have registered and plan to attend... click the link below for more info, registration link, and trail descriptions. Dates are May 31-June 2.

@BigFishAllDay id like to make out to that event but might have some commitments that weekend. If I can make it I was looking at the site and their moderate trails mentioned that recover hooks were “mandatory” on both ends of the vehicle. Of course I have hooks on the front but being a little 4 banger I don’t have a hitch on the rear. How necessary do you think that really is??

Figure out your schedule and register sooner than later if you want to go... the spaces will fill up. Only 106/150 left today and registration opened Sunday. Also, remember only 50 slots for each class (motorcycle / atv / full size 4wd), so the total number taken/left may not be proportional.

The NM4W website is probably where you saw those "requirements". This event is not a NM4W club run, so their rules do not apply afaik... the rules on the NM4W website are the ones they have laid out for their club sponsored runs. This event is put on my NMOHVA as a fundraiser and NM4W helps to facilitate the event. I don't think anyone would hassle you about not having rear recovery points, but if you find yourself in a predicament it may come around to bite you. Same issue could come up at Cedro Peak, out in the Puerco, or anywhere else for that matter. You have to personally weigh the risks and decide how prepared you want to be out there.

is it beneficial to upgrade headers being on a high altitude here in NM?

Depends on how much beneficial you can justify for the cost.

I used to have an ‘07 x-runner while stationed in NorCal and purchased a used JBA shorty headers. Low end torque was noticeable it was at a sea level, just don’t know if it will make a difference here with the high elevation.

We lose approx. 15% horsepower at 5000' of altitude. You can do things to increase power & torque, but the result will always be 15% less than what you'd get at sea level. Edit: Unless you're running boost.
