A nice, easy drive would be up past bonito lake and then up tanbark canyon and down Nogal canyon. Not a ton of hard offroad stuff here unfortunately. The Capitan mountain range is really cool to explore too, but east mountain might still be closed due to a fire out on the north side.

If you end up also going to Cloudcroft, hit up Mad Jack's BBQ!

Might be in Ruidoso myself for firework shenanigans.

My original FlipPac decal was gettin kinda old so I had a new one printed and I had some time to mount it today. This is the first version I need to make some adjustments before I get the final version printed. What do you guys think?

So far I'm impressed. The gas mileage is pretty poor but it's great to drive.

Thanks, I think it turned out pretty good. Its been pretty good its a tad bit stiffer considering my truck is lighter than what it came off of haha but no complaints. I didn't have time to check the bolts yesterday so that's the first thing I'm going to do when I get home.

Thanks! I know but I think I might need a few other accessories before I go down that route haha.

While getting gas this morning, one of your locals suggested that I need to drive up Capitan.

Looking online I see hiking trails; is there a driving trail I’m missing?

I’m trying to compare @Taco505 ’s link with what I find on google.

Forest service road 56 is what you're looking for to go up East Mountain. It's off of county road 001 I believe. Just east of Capitan is the county road you follow to get there. Send me a pm if you have any other questions or need help.

Yes! Thank you! That’s the info I needed.

FS56 isn’t on google, but is on that other map I quoted. Unfortunately, it didn’t quite pan out, but hopefully it will next time.

Darn it, I'm sorry about that. I thought it might be open again. Did you make your way to any other spots?
Edit: just saw your truck in mid town. Looks good man

    Thank you.

We didn’t make it to any wheeling-ish spots, but went from White Sands to Lincoln. We went up to Ski Apache for the zip line, and stopped by Monjeau lookout. We watched the fireworks from Excalibur Road/near Tiara del sol condos to avoid the traffic, and it was an awesome spot.

You have a really nice area up here!
