My back and hand arthritis will be the limiting factor, prolly. I'll use it on top of existing but old landscaping. My truck will only hold so much, as well.

Does anyone have suggestions for roads to cruise over on Mt. Taylor? I'm not familiar with that area at all but I'm hoping to run a trail that has obstacles and/or snow on it and isn't just a nice graded road.

I would not go there this time of year unless you are willing to spend the rest of the winter on the mountain. Ask me how I know.

That's kind of my intention . Know of any roads that can be slighly technical other than snow up there?

There's a lot of snow on Mt. Taylor right now, and it's probably getting hammered by today's storm.

Last time I was up there, I kept finding narrower and narrower trails, and finally ended up on an ATV trail that I had to back out of, on a steep hill. Lots of old logging roads up there, like in The Jemez.

Had a 2002 Tacoma and used to go there a lot, have family in Grants. Went up the mountain one year around Christmas following tracks up to where new snow covered them up. Turned around and came back down and later heard of a couple that got stuck up there about then. He tried to walk out and died, she stayed with the truck and was rescued. Wonder if I went a little farther maybe I could have found them.

    Whoa.

I once found a family w/2 small kids stuck up in the Pecos, in snow higher than their hood (they were in a Grand Cherokee). I had decided to turn around due to conditions, when this guy came running up asking for help. They probably could have hiked out, but it would have been 15-20 miles. I managed to pull them out after they shoveled for awhile, but it was tough. Things get serious on the mountains in winter.

Alright fellas so its been a week since I posted about the monthly brew pub meet up and it looks like there is some consensus. We'll plan for the inaugural next month, I have the details below.

Again, this isn't anything super formal just a chance for us local/visitor TW people to get together and meet up. If you're free drop by and if you're not, there is always next month and hopefully that'll give you all some time to plan.

    Date: Thursday February 6th
    Time: 5:30pm
Where: Differential Brewery - 500 Yale Blvd SE, Albuquerque, NM 87106

It's SAF*, so I just might. You'll have to speak up; I'm olde & can't hear well.

Does anyone know if Highway 165/Las Huertas Canyon from Placitas to the Crest is closed? My wife and I wanna do a little day trip with the dogs tomorrow to the backside of the Sandias.

My guess is it's closed. I tried to go to Cedro last weekend but it was closed.
