Anyone know what’s going on with the upper part of Otero Canyon the last few months? I’ve noticed when MTB’ing out there this summer that halfway up west ridge is blocked off and has updated signage from the Air Force. Also the area in the upper part of canyon with all the jumps and been busted up and they have rangers in there giving citations for people riding in that area.

Dunno, bought the truck in Colorado and lived in NM with it as is for a year. No one ever hassled me. The windshield, side windows, and back window aren’t tinted. The access cab windows seem to be but :notsure: (I didn’t do it) and camper shell side widows are but camper shells don’t have to have windows, so I doubt it will ever come up there.

Either way who cares. God I can’t wait to be out west again. I miss mountains and views and actual off-roading. I was born and raised out west. And living here has been truly lame.

Yes, asking $13.5K. 212K miles, maintenance records available. Belt, water pump and transmission service done around 170K
3" RadFlo long travel lift, with Dobbinson rear springs, MetalTech rear bumper, Pioneer Stereo with CarPlay, RCI Skids front to back and rock rail.
I have pulled the front Demillo Front bumper, unless I sell it before the sale, but it does need to be painted so deals can be worked out and there is much more I have done. Winch, air compressor, Fridge and CB does not go with the sale, the ham radio can for $50. The CB & Ham cables stay with the truck. I also have original wheels and 3rd row seats.
Here is a link to what I have done, the best way to see what has been done. https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/coops-gx470.904659/

I heard that Kirtland is starting to patrol the area again, but can not confirm past what we heard at work.

Well bought a Tacoma so figure I'll post up. I'm up in Los Alamos. Bought it Friday and was loaded up and heading into the mountains for the weekend within 3 hours. Only picture is once we were back and unloading.

2011 DCSB TRD Off-road. Picked it up as a daily and mountain truck.

Yeah going from packing in a F350 long bed to this is a bit of an adjustment, especially with 3 kids.

Got the FX back together and running, still need to get the thing tuned a bit better and see if it’ll pass emissions haha.

    I have too many Toyotas...
Everything... and a bag of Cheetos.
My fellow NM TW members, I am up a creek and could use any advice you might have...

Unfortunately, this week I was in southern CO and started hearing a noise. I finally tracked it down, and to my shock, realized that I had managed to tear the upper coil bucket and shock mounting plate completely off the supporting cross member in front, almost entirely off the frame itself, and in the process tore sections of the frame itself. The coil/shock mount tore the frame at the factory weld from front to back, and is beginning to tear apart the frame at the top inside corner near the mount.

I have contacted my insurance provider (St. Farm) and am waiting for a call back. I found a frame guy (A1 frame repair) willing to look at it, as well as an off road shop (coincidentally named A One Equipment). Most standard body shops (Quanz, Car Crafters, etc) don't want any part of it. I also have a call out to a certified mobile welder, and am waiting on a call back.

I figured I would post some pictures here and see if any of you have any thoughts on the repair, any references for a professional welder, or a reference to a frame repair shop you trust. Please chime in if you can help, thanks!

For reference, this is a 2001 4Runner Sport Edition, fully built, rear suspension is OME 2861 coils, 80 series OE shocks, custom links upper/lower, and custom panhard drop/lift brackets. I believe the contributing factors are the 4Runner being very heavy to begin with due to armor/mods, normally carrying a heavy load in the cargo area, in addition to stiff coils/shocks, and the weight of a CBI rear with tire swing out.
