Well I’m off midweeks these days... so if you want to get out sometime hit me up. I’m psyched to go back to Puerco or Caja del Rio. Same for you @smw62891 when you’re feeling up to it.

Damn boys, this off-roading is a lot of work...

After the last few Puerco days.... I’ve found more rubbing. It’s not the the slow, armor banging rock crawling that it rubs exactly. It’s those fucking endless 2’ sandy whoops on the way in and out. I suppose I could drive 3mph but fuck.

I’m on 295/75r16s with 3.5”BS wheels. I already pulled the flares and trimmed the fenders. Have an aggressive CMC. Flattened pinch weld etc.

    (Mud for dramatic effect!)

I’m rubbing the firewall just in from the pinch weld, above the tire on the wheel well and up front towards the bumper up high.

Looks like it’s time for the BFH.

only joking, it’s the wheels man, stance game. I’m running -38 ray 10’s and 33’s with no issues on the 4R. Before my front bumper I had to chop the stock cover quite a BIT.

I just watched a video from Donut last night about cutouts. I didn't know they were a thing but looks pretty easy to install and a good option if you want some sound from time to time.

yeah they are actually included from the factory on some sports cars. i remember wanting to put one on my 1st gen like 11 years ago but a flowmaster exhaust was cheaper and i had like $0.69 to spend at the time

If anyone wants to do Cedro Peak sometime in the near future (better weather) .... we own a coffee shop in Edgewood, we could meet up there .. coffee on us and we could make the Cedro run. Just a thought.

Just an fyi, but I have a neighbor w/ a 2nd-gen; he put a loud exhaust on his truck (don't know what kind) and it's louder, but the tone is not pleasant imo (sounds like a tractor). The V6 just doesn't sound all that great uncorked to me. Prolly improve performance, though. My opinion only. :crapstorm: :D

Edit: the Taco in the above video doesn't sound bad to me with the cutout, I dunno. :)

    Very into free coffee

Yeah the one in the video doesn’t sound bad, very much a Japanese sound. I wonder if your neighbor just straight piped it, sans cats. That was installed post cats.

I actually have all my vehicles registered at my moms house in Rio Rancho so I don’t have to worry about emissions testing :D

One of the nice things about living in RR. :dancingbacon:
When I upgraded my SAABaru to Stage II, I went with the Cobb downpipe, which is catted, but that car has a completely gutted muffler (previous owner). The turbo provides enough back pressure so that the car is quiet. :burnrubber:

Wife (Jen) wanted to get out of the house before the snow tomorrow, so we went out to Rio Puerco again.

Let her drive for some of it. She’s so comfortable being the passenger, thought it would be good to let her feel the steep drop ins where you can’t see the road. And the off camber turns and some good medium sized steps. She did great. And had fun.

Sweet looks like you guys are having a blast out there.

On a side note, I’ve got Monday off and thinking about hitting Cedro if anyone is interested.

Cedro will definitely get some snow I’d be willing to bet 5”-8”. I’m sure 16” is probably up toward the crest.

Considering the way our weather is I have no idea what will be left come Monday but I’d like to head up there and play around haha.

I'm happy to flash tunes and/or perform TSB updates if anyone is seeking those services. Hardest part will be meeting up somewhere unless you're one of the 4 or so who live in Alamogordo (then it's easy).
