I need to live up there for the school district for my boys.

Our house in Atlanta was $850k. Los Alamos is cheap, there's just nothing available.

We may end up buying a $400k dump house just like you're describing and adding on. The lots are just too damn small. I need a 2 car garage, workshop, and room for the motorcoach. Hence thinking building may be easier. There's a few plots for sale in Quemazon, but it has an HOA... They're gonna be mad when I'm braaaaping through on a dirt bike or welding on something in the driveway.

I understand. Los Alamos has the best public school system in the state and is also nationally ranked. My only issue if I lived up there the best restaurant that is open past six is Smiths grocery store, but it is their flagship store. With all the government and native American lands I think Quemazon is your best bet. Good luck.

PM me. There’s a local guy I can get you in touch with. He did my shock relocate and welded my torn core support.

I live in Los Alamos. Even Quemazon lots aren't very big and they are almost all on the side on a hill. It is a very land locked town. To get more space, its probably worth looking at White Rock (if you want to stay close) and in the pajarito acres area. Most of those lots are 2 acres.

Anyone know of a place in Alamogordo that can do coilover spring swaps? I went to 6 or 7 places today and they either don't do that or their compressors don't fit Fox 2.5s. There's a couple places I can call tomorrow including the base auto shop. Failing that, I'm SOL unless there's someplace in Cruces or I DIY it.

Only a few in ABQ and I don't trust them. Only spring compressor I found was $700 at the time and the shop wanted $300 swapping coils. I'm seriously considering buying the spring compressor...

If you buy the compressor you can be our NM expert making some cash on the side for your rig.

You've just made me very sad with your truth. I now am contemplating getting a compressor myself, but not a fancy one. A non-wall-mounted, non-hydraulic, all elbow grease one.

This sounds like a much smarter idea.

I had one of those and it did not fit. Closest one compressor I found to fitting the fox shock was one y eastwood, but the safety tabs needed to be machined off. I have had a few spring compressors fail and and thankfully no one was hurt. Not something I really want to risk

I would assume the base auto shop would have a wall mounted hydraulic spring compressor. The one in Missouri did it and made short work of installing coils.

I hoped they would but I gave them a call and they said they didn't have one that sounded right and recommended the ones you bolt on the outside. I wanna swing by and see. Maybe there was some misunderstanding.

Spoke with the manager at the auto shop. They do not have one that works. I'm baffled that there isn't one place in this town that can do this job given there's plenty of trucks and some ATVs running around.

But the manager, or someone on deck tomorrow, will help me doing it the old fashioned way with some rented external compressors. Not the best way to go about this but it's all I got.

Oof yeah that is surprising, Alamogordo seems like it’d have a shop with a spring compressor...

Installed an Oem Audio + amp and subwoofer in the wife’s 4Runner. I’m impressed. It’s a bit expensive but the custom sub box fits perfectly and sounds pretty damn good.

wife is a bit of a bass head and loves it.
