Where were you able to pick up the FJ Cruiser rims for Blue Tacoma you had? The Black Special Edition ones are impossible to find but I was hoping to find the darker gray or even the sliver and powder coat them black.

By the way... welcome back to the Tacoma club! :D LOL What do you have your eyes on?

no 2011... dunno, been lookin' at a few early 90's tacoma pickups... they were pre-tacoma... called extra cab -- most of them have well over 200k miles, but are all under about 5 thousand bucks, and are pretty clean... we'll see what happens...

check it. I'm gonna wave 2 grand in his face and fly over friday to pick it up. You guys know anything about these trucks? Anything that has a tendency to break or wear out? I'm gonna search around on the net for common issues...

Anybody know if it's legal to "drive through" (in a non-reckless manner) the mud puddles on the NW corner of Wyoming & Montgomery? :D I read the Reckless Driving Law in NM and it looks like it's ok if you're not endangering other people/property or doing donuts..... What say you guys? (Especialy you, Whitecloud.)

well it has the terrible 3.0L V6 (blows head gaskets and is extremely underpowered) and paired with the auto its going to be a dog.

Look for one with the 22re and a 5 speed IMO.

I had a 91 standard cab V6 for 10 years...270k on her by the time my stepdaughter blew the head gasket. they are great trucks. tough as hell. less plastic then these new ones. its a bitch to get up underneath to the oil filter unless you're small and japanese....
lets see, I destroyed lots of shit, but the obvious stuff would be a perpetual oil leak, the clutch going out several times vacuum lines coming loose ( there was some abuse, wthout a doubt.) the suspension rubbed up front, (the A arms, but I had big tires )

IDK what else... I deinitely wanted to keep that truck and fix it up to be a crawler, but oooooo fuckity fuckin welll. thats life.:annoyed: I got lots to be thankful for, and the rats would probably be going to town on it, sitting on my property.

BTW I am going to Idaho to run the Middle Fork of the Salmon river (MFS) 8/12 - 8/25 so no meet for me... maybe after river season...:D

o yeah.... is that truck really an Auto???? cause IDK aboot that shit.

I work for Albuquerque. Currently I'm on the west side. Everything from I-40 north to the hill into Rio Rancho and the River west to paseo del volcan.

In regards to the puddles. I wouldn't do it. We have had massive sink holes in that area within the last year and personally I wouldn't consider it reckless but I would maybe get you for loss kdt traction and careless. A lot of that would depend on how many people were around and how fast you were going. Just my 2 cents.

Yeah, i was lookin' for the 5-speed too, there is another one i'm lookin at. it was a 87, been transplanted with 22re/speed, straight axles, with only 133k total miles on the truck, less on the motor rebuild.... I've been reading around and alot of the v6 auto guys say that power is an issue...

I live right by there and play around over there from time to time. I think it's a trespassing issue though. I've seen a couple people getting busted back there closer to the church, but I don't know what they were doing to get in trouble. I wouldn't spend too much time there if you decide to do it. There's also an area behind the Auto Zone just up the street on Montgomery that's sometimes muddy and has a couple of banks to wheel up. But I've seen unmarked Tahoes parked at the Presbyterian clinic next door, so keep an eye out.

As for the Rio Puerco trip, did you guys decide on a day yet? I'm down whenever and looking forward to finally getting out there!

just take a sledge hammer to it :D, looks like you pretty much remove the brake system, and remove the hub, now taking that wheel bearing assembly is the tricky part i say just take it to napa have um pull it apart and press a new bearing set on :)

Nice. I 've actually been down there quite a bit myself... I was just wondering if it's legal. :D lol I usually just drive through that one big puddle a few times right after a nice rain... and maybe drive around a bit, but I do try and stay away from the church as much as possible. And I have seen the dirt area behind Auto Zone, but I haven't driven up that one yet.....
Done! :D Hopefully you get that $10 credit soon. ;)
