Black card: No wonder you assholes start so many fights. Jeebus, ya'lls quick to stomp on somebody's nuts. My best friend, Lil' Wayne gave me his card before he was hauled off to jail.

No, I don't have one, lol. It was more a figure of speech, I've got a large limit on my existing card, and an ever growing balance... but my point was, is that I've got room for a lift.

Now, you mean bastards, answer my question. How long does it take to install that lift?

I can't tell from the picture what you did. Typically exhaust hangars are just thin steel and a rubber bushing. Have you tried pulling on it with vice grips or giving it a little pressure with a pry bar. If it needs to be replaced, Autozone, or some place similar, sells replacement bolt on hangars for like $10. Anybody that can weld could probably fix it for free in 10 minutes.

I'm familiar with buggy leaves and they're awesome but you're going to turn your truck into a trailer queen. You can't drive them on the road. They are way too flexy. The first time you swerve going over 35 mph, you're going to end up on your lid. Do you have another truck to tow it from sight to sight? I've heard of people that make lock-outs on them to be able to drive them on the road before but I don't know much about it.

All 4x4 TRD Off Road models come with a rear e-locker. Some 2wd Prerunners have a locking rear axle too.

None of them have ever had front lockers from the factory.

Since Tacos are not full-time 4wd, they do not have or need a center diff lock. It is automatically at 50/50 when you turn it on.

Starting in 2009 on the 4x4 TRD Off Road (my truck), also has what's called ATRAC. This works on both axles. It electronically fakes a locked axle. It's an open diff but if a tire is in the air, or on ice/ mud whatever, and looses traction in comparison to the wheel on the other side. The ATRAC kicks in. That tire that was uselessly spinning in the air gets grabbed by the anti-lock brake system. Once it grabs that tire, the power is transferred back through the open diff to the path of least resistance which happens to be the tire that is on the ground and does have traction. Once the tire in the air regains traction, ATRAC releases the ABS and you drive on as usual. This is all being calculated by the computer a bazillion times a second. It works amazingly well. In some cases, I think it's better than a locker because it doesn't affect your steering. I can run ATRAC on both axles or true lock in back and ATRAC in front.

There is actually like 9 different drive modes on my truck. Way too many in my opinion. It's quite confusing and just more shit to break in the long run. I can drive in the usual 2hi, 4hi, and 4lo but within each of those modes I can tweak it by turning on/off variations of VSC and/or ATRAC. Depending on the mode I'm in I can also set the axles to open, LSD, or locked.

Hah! The Zen Master lost his cool.:D

And it was all my fault.:yay:

Honestly though, it is a pretty slick system. The owner's manual isn't much help on all of the drive modes so I've had to go out and experiment just to figure the crap out.

There is a steep, frame twisting, rutted out, loose dirt hill near my house. If I just go at crawl speeds:
    4lo only- can't get up/fail
    4lo + rear locker- fail
    4lo + ATRAC- success
4lo + ATRAC and rear locker- success (but not any better than ATRAC alone)

I can actually even get myself stuck halfway up the hill in one of the fail modes then turn on ATRAC and start again.

I'm not saying it's better than lockers. I'm sure in some situations it's not. I haven't personally experienced it but I've heard in deep mud it can slip so much that it confuses the system. I guess just I'd just turn it off if that happened. I must admit I've been impressed thus far though.

So I bit the bullet and ordered a 3.0:1 Low Range Transfer Case and cable shifters, along with CNC machined adapter plate. Found this on a local forum Hi pinion, kingpin steering 1979 F350 Dana 60 with 5.38 gears, 35 spline axles, Deddenbear knuckles, CTM superjoints, shaved pumpkin, ARB locker and ballistic fabrication diff cover.Full floating Dana 60 rear out of the same 1979 F350 with 5 .38 gears, disc brake conversion kit, shaved pumpkin, ARB air locker, and ballistic fab diff cover. The locker is a Differential Shaft Spline 35 Ratio 4.10 And Down Dana M60-2R:D:D:D:D:D

Oh yeah, it's way better than open but that's not real hard to do. The nicest part is that it only kicks in when necessary. Otherwise you're just rolling around on open diffs which is nice because it doesn't affect steering.
