i found this funny people trying to use a-trac with the locker on. its pointles you have a higher probiblity to get stuck if the a-trac is trying to stop one wheel in the back from spinning if its sinking in the sand because it will slow down the wheel with traction if your going to sport a-trac turn the locker off it will work better trust me and if you going to run the locker on turn the a-trac off but you wont have the open diff in the front traction like you would with the a-trac....... just use a track unless crawloing then you can use both and the locker and it will help out the front for everything els dont use the locker in your new toy!!! burn out your rear breaks its commen sence!!!!

    ^^ phuckin cool!!

So, painted my avid stuff -- it came out like sh!t. Paint chipped off from my finger. Sanded the hell out of the stuff, cleaned it with parts cleaner wiped it down... painted it with a few light coats over the course of about 2 hours. let it dry over night. The next day, I chipped the paint with my finger nails as I was taking the things down from the hangars.

So--- guess who forgot to primer?

AND... you guys post the bejesus out of this thread.

    Nice!
It looks like it would work but since it's not selectable it's going to change your on road manners too. You may or may not care about that.
The locker effectively disables the ATRAC. The brakes only grab a tire if it is spinning more than the tire on the opposite side. With the locker turned on, both left and right tires are spinning at the same speed whether they have traction or not. Because they are spinning at the same speed, the ATRAC never kicks in. I'm not burning out my brakes. Another misconception is that ATRAC cuts power. It does not. It just makes sure it goes to the tire with the most traction. VSC cuts power and that is a different system.

Finished cutting last night for the sliders. I was able to tack them together too. They are 2"x2"x3/16" square tube on the inner legs and main beam. The outer legs and the secondary beam are 7 gauge 1.5"x1.5" square tube. I need to finish welding and get the mounting plates, end caps, and gussets on. I arguably over engineered them. Many sliders just have 3 legs going to the frame, I did 4. Many have 1.5" tube on the main legs and beam. I did thick walled 2". They should be as strong or stronger than any you can buy. I intentionally wanted them not to stick out too much to keep the lines of the truck. They should be fairly low profile.

    Here they are:

I haven't been around before the Puerco trip Anthony. The Puerco was my first run with you guys. I was in the white dc long bed with the stock streetish tires. that ended up helpig pull out Ester and Alex before you guys came back around. Got the flyers that Alex was passing out.

Actually the wife got it on the truck when she was at the gym (thanks Alex)!! haha.

But down for going again at any point. My schedule at work is going to change again in about 2 months. But if any of you guys out there want to go on a Wed or Thurs back to the Puerco.

Just pm me if anyone wants to go on a wed or thurs.

the reason why i said that is because someone said they wish they could overide the locker turning off the a-trac...at under 3 miles an hr the rear locker and a-trac can me enabled. it kicks off after that to protect the breaks. it doesnt cut power but if you are going up a hill with the locker on and a-trac at under 3mph and it thinks one tire in the back is slipping it will apply breaks to one rear wheel slowing down the oposeing wheel witch could end up overall getting you stuck in the sand, mud, if i had the a-trac all i would use the locker for is rock crawling.

I like them! you learn well grasshoppa! soon you will be the master....
and we will all be beggin you for sliders!

So Those Look flippin strong! Sliders on 'roids! :D The welds look smooth and the corners look sweet rounded off, and they'll be capped right? so this is maybe a stupid question but are the weld on anchor points offset cause there is nowhere up front (or back?) to weld to ?
Oh BTW, you inspired me to check at SFCC to see if theres any welding classes. they only have metal sculpture classes. lol.hood ornaments anyone?
