ive got some sliders from avid with steps on 'em. They're pretty tough, havent been able to test them out yet, but I'm sure that time will come.

killer! I always thought it was one or the other... they dont stick out too much? I like that Avid is willing to work some deals with people, break up the payments, and sell his overstock at ~40% off. thats pretty f-n cool. I will definitely give them more consideration now.
So you have to strip your pushguard and re primer it? that SUX! It will look killer when youre done tho! ?Why do something once, when you can do it three times? that sounds like me...

Yeah, they should be quite strong. The welding isn't finished yet. I just have them tacked together. Yes, those main tubes will be capped. The leaf springs block the back foot and a half or so from having any anchor points. The frame also curves upward at that point. All of the aftermarket ones are made the same way. Apparently it's strong enough. I thought about a long skinny leg shooting upward toward the frame back there but it's not necessary. Like I said, mine are beefier than most. If there's work fine, mine should too.

I'm in the metal sculpture class.:) It's even cross listed in the course catalog under welding and art. There are people in there making all kinds of crap. The professor doesn't care as long as you're working on something. I'm sitting there making sliders and there's a girl next to me making some crappy metal flowers.

Threw the FJ wheels and the duratracs on the truck. Looks kinda cruddy now, truck needs a good washing and I think the combination of the indigo and gunmetal will look pretty dang nice. Can't wait to try the tires off road.

Nice looking rims and tires! I can say with confidence that you won't be disappointed with the Duratracs' off road performance.

God damn so many pages to go through!.. looks like everybody's getting something new lol those FJ rims look Bad ass!! Go test out those tires and come back with some reviews lol i like the tread pattern on those they look pretty aggressive.

Does anybody know what type of muffler configuration i'd need to replace it with a dynomax super turbo?

You can go with any offset you want, depending on where you want your exhaust to exit. For your inlet pipe you want 3in and either single outlet or dual outlet 3in. You could go bigger but you would just loose your back pressure and no sense in having the exhaust on there. You can also get a 2.5in out and gain more torque but lose top end speed. Body length wont matter b/c you have a ton of room under your bed. Think that covers it.

    Alex r u running a y pipe?

well not sure that an "h" pipe is? but since i only have a 4 banger i only have one set of headers and 2 cats, so my exhaust is a single inlet and dual outlet. and i have 2.5 piping all the way through

Oh ok. yea i went in and edited out the h pipe b/c I though about it and didnt see how there would be room. H pipe is coming off 2 manifolds and joined well running there lines. Looks just like H..didnt mean to put h. Each pipe has its own muffler just like an X pipe

Haha. nice! that gives me hope. I guess I would have to talk to the instructor and see what the class expectations are. either way learning the basics is crucial, and no ones gonna make CBI bumpers without starting somewhere. I will be lucky if i can even make crappy flowers.

Looks F-n Dope!!! the combination works well ! I am jealous! I would love to pick up some of them FJ wheels, and the duratracs are sick! I like the sidewall tread... and IIRC Greg said they're quiet on the highway. course I am kinda too cheap to replace the stock wheels right now... too many other things to do... But- Nice work! I m gonna have to make some time to get my shit going and catch up !

Yea I cant even think what about what im typing...I should go to bed. Yea I pretty much have the same set up(no headers) except I still have stock pipe from the manifolds. I didnt have enough $$$ to replace all of it, otherwise I would have gotten high performance cats.

ya i know what you mean my gf bought me my headers for my bday :), but i though tthat the performance cats dont really do much for the "newer" cars because they are already less restrictive....at least thats what the guy at the exhaust shop told me that its not worth it to replace unless its in older car

Thats a nice b-day gift. Did she just surprise you, or you told her which ones and she bought em? I dont think they do anything either, and I dont have a speed demon anyway. Dom and me put my exhaust on and we cut two cats off in the process.
