I'm making them in class that only meets once a week. My pair, the first pair, will be done in two weeks. I want to make a few skid plates for my truck next but those should go fast. Assuming I have the plans drawn up I could bend up all of those in one class. After that I was going to make bumpers, but...

I had no intentions of selling anything but if you guys are really serious about buying them, I could do that instead of my bumpers. Then I'll just use your money and buy bumpers.:D

I made these things strong as hell with materials as strong as or stronger than any sliders you can buy. I used 2"x2"x 3/16" square tube for the main legs and main beam. I used 7 gauge 1.5"x1.5" square tube for the outer legs and beams. The tube bender I have access to is for larger industrial applications and supposedly doesn't work real good on the smaller stuff we would want on sliders. So round tube is out. I made mine kind of low profile to provide protection yet still kinda keep the lines of the truck. They'll only stick out about an inch or so past the door sills. I will post pictures when they're done. I could easily make them stick out more for added protection. I could also do the main beam only to provide underside protection without sticking out and messing up the looks of your truck at all. I only have frame measurements for second gen double cab. I think access cab might be the same but I don't know. If you want to measure, mine are 82" long. I could also get you a copy of my plans with all of the measurements if you're interested in finding out for sure about mounting points and stuff. They could be bolt on or weld on. Its just a matter of whether or not I punch bolt holes in the mounting plates.

I have over $100 in materials on these. Steel is expensive! Main beam only would cost less in materials and labor. Honestly, I'd need to make $150-$200 in labor for it to be worth my while. If you add it up, it puts them up around $300. I've seen companies sell them starting at about that price. The only real advantage I'd be able to offer is that mine are very strong and you'd potentially save a butt load of money on shipping. You could come get them for free or somehow make it worth my while to meet in Cuba or ABQ.:)

What do you think? Are you really interested?

I would just take advantage of the good snowpack right now.... Taos, SF, And Angelfire have great coverage... which means high elevation trails... i.e. anything around taos and angelfire is buried in snow and/ or muddy as hell (they do have Snowmo rentals in Angelfire tho :]

for actual wheeling (unless you come back and visit this summer) on your way home detour to ABQ and hit up the lower elevation areas where its dry all winter long for the most part... Rio Puerco in Rio Rancho/ ABQ area is pretty sick, and of course Las Cruces and Farmington Have world class stuff,(Blendedfam, and TRDBoy would have to fill you in on their Locales)....and if all else fails theres some arroyos and motocross trails out Buckman road in Santa Fe on the way to the Rio Grande.Cochiti/ Jemez Mountains are close.... Basically we have dirt roads all over the entire state, but thats not necessarily quality 4 wheeling... prolly the same as TX...:D. And Forest service Roads are legit as long as the gates open...
In the summer Valle Vidal is an Epic remote area between Questa and [IMG]Cimarron (its the big blank spot between Taos and Cimarron on the map) [IMG]its got world class Elk hunting,(its a once in a lifetime permit) and a gazillion miles to go horseback, and fishing and stuff. but not wheeling. just dirt roading....Colorado has the epic jeep trails over passes and whatnot.
SO Basically to make a long story longer, Enjoy the Skiing!!!

He was stuck on the sand dunes below insurance hill. i had to go and get my truck, and air down, holy shit what a difference, running only 8 psi. ill post pics later. but i thought you would all like this.check out next post.

Sunday morning in the puerco again, as i am hitting the dunes down below insurance hill again, what do i find? That's right a new TRD SPORT 4x4 extended cab upside down off the cliff. i took some pics with my phone from the top. i crawled down to get a better look. All suspension components are in good shape, interior looks good, the interior dome light was still on, so that tells you how recent it was. I looks like a few bullet holes in the windows before it went off, and shotgun blast peppered the broken front bumper. I thought i would post, so all of you bitch'n on here about limited slip this and i need 4x4 that, have all the parts you need for the taking... (also side note it is about 300 meters south of the big insurance hill with the majority of the cars)l_4f4f179fe4a549a683df42aa291d8a2b_293a3969ef3aaa97417c58e00a2311c56b325edd.pngl_681903b206c64f47ab8ea6bef03f19cf_b2ad7b9566a62a21a2e4716cbfb99022ab6ce477.png

Get down there and strip the ship outta that bitch.;)

It's probably gone already. What's up with the bullet holes being in it with the dome light still on. That happened awfully fast. Or did the bullet holes happen before it rolled? Did you stumble upon a crime scene?

the billet hole definitely happened before, i was expected to find someone in it, thats how i know the dome light was on... like i said i am down for going. no way to get parts from the bottom, it is to far away from the trail, its about 75 meters from the top, 100 meters from the bottom, it is wedged in a little ravine. i dont think it is going to slide down anymore than it already has.

Damn, I wish I didn't live three hours away from that truck! :frusty: I'd be all over that. It's not even stealing. They don't even recover vehicles from down there do they?
