We had a really good time shooting; next time we could have more people out for that. I brought 11 guns yesterday, and we shot all but the .22. I'm not sure how many people would be practical to have at a shoot, organisation-wise. If we had a lot of folks, we might want to designate a meet range safety officer or two, to avoid any confusion or incidents.

It eventually started snowing so hard the guns were getting wet & visibility got minimal.

I have pics on my phone of DH shooting the Mighty Casull; I need to figure out how to get them onto a PC. Raymond didn't have a cable that worked for that, and neither do I yet.

I have a lot of gun cleaning to do now. :D

lol... we all know the story of those who have lifted trucks.... they all have little dicks.... I stick to low because going off road is cool and all but nothing like the rush of so much power under that skinny pedal and being able to take those corners without the risk of rolling it... I feel much safer driving my truck daily than I would one of the tonka trucks you guys drive... one quick swerve and that can lead to disaster... can't say that about my truck... which I have had to do before so this drop has paid for its self already at least on two occasions...

My truck's not lifted. I know not to push it through a turn any harder when I hear the inside rear tire stop howling (because it's in the air). :D

Back when I was autocrossing competetively & regularly, there was one guy that ran a HiLux in my class, and he did pretty well. I ran a VW Scirocco in that class.

    Glad you're OK! :D

Yeah, this time of year the roads can be pretty iffy for sand, scoria, melt-off, ice in the shady spots etc.

I took the Duc up to a friend's house in the Manzanos once last week after work; made it up w/ no problems, but had to go very slowly on the way back down south 14 because it was starting to get pretty cold & ice up. That bike is unmanageable on snow & ice.

It almost has enough power to be unmanageable on dry roads

:D If you launch it just right, you can get wheelspin during a wheelie.

I don't have the skills yet to do that consistently, though. The tire will spin on tarstrips on a hot day, though, or across the paint stripes at the intersections.

I only get about 3000 miles out of a rear tire; it's a pretty soft compound.

They dyno at about 156hp at the wheel. 411lbs w/ a full tank & all liquids. That gives 2.63lbs/wheel hp.

I can imagine! I use a Valentine One detector at all times, but sometimes you come around one of those blind hairpins & there's a cop using instant-on & you're screwed. Late at night it's probably a lot better for that.

Yeah, good knobbies are pretty soft, right? I understand that they don't last long if you ride them on pavement much. How much does a rear knobby cost?
