Not gonna be able to make it up north for my break. Not enough funds on the black card to fill the truck with gas. My wife and I took a little mini trip to the needle of the Organ mountains today. The trailhead starts however close you can make it by 4x4 off of Modoc Mine Rd. In reading up on the trailhead from one blogger, it is recommended that "expert driven 4x4 vehicles equipped with high ground clearances, oversized tires, and locking differentials only attempt to negotiate the road". I felt like i was reading the owners manual. The road wasn't that bad at all, had a few areas of crawling across medium sized boulders that required me to get out and take a peek so didn't jack up my fab paint job... Other than that, it was boring. The trip back was a bit interesting as it decided to rain, so my only mission was to save my new wheels. We ended up making it out alive. Took a few pics.

Had to take a gratuitous flexing pic. Thats one of our "kids", Deuce in the truck.

my wife, looking goofy, trying to stuff our other dog into a backpack.

The dog actually stuffed into the back pack. His name is Lucky, he is blind. He was blinded after getting the name lucky, although its a funny coincidence. The trail was just too much for him to make without eyes since we wanted to make this only a day trip. yes, I know I'm gay looking. thanks.

All in all, it was a good trip. Got a little exercise and got to work the truck out, too.

i've used a high lift jack on my truck and tacotrons lol but only to lift the rear by the hitch..Word of advice..dont buy hi lift jacks from harbor freight...usually their tools are good but the jack just gave out on me sunday...i was jacking up the front end of my boat trailor... had the nose of the boat jacked up near 3ft and then all the sudden it just let go and the boat slammed into some bricks i had laying next to it...

Maybe he got Hid's when they first came out..i remember my brothers hids cost near $300 just for low beam but that was 5 years ago
