Same here, I would've considered a PRO but my 1st priorities were manual transmission & rear locker and even the more common automatic PRO's are still extremely hard to find nationwide and always require the biggest bohica markups, so I got the only manual OR available within 100s of miles. Plus I've also really enjoyed all the do it yourself mods that wouldn't have been as necessary with a PRO.

I feel your pain! I ordered mine in June, got it November...I loved my FJ, so I wasn't in a hurry. Knowing me, my wife pushed for the pro because she knew I'd obsessively gut any other trim and that I already liked the stance and suspension of the PRO...sucker, I've already replaced the tires twice and installed sliders and the Eibach pro springs and 1" block. Bumper is next. Still, I won't replace the suspension any time soon, so I guess she was right (keep that to yourself).

Lol, it's like when people sh*t on BMW M3s for no reason and they say that their 335i or m340i can beat M3s with a tune and mods.

I think the PRO emblem makes the truck cooler, due to the speculation it causes about the additions/refinements for the unknowing (like me, before)

I’d see the PRO emblem & wonder what goodies has Toyota added

Haha. I appreciate your honesty! If by decal, you mean the pro plastic badge thing, I will give you money to take mine! As someone who is a nut when it comes to detailing, I hate the thing.

Perhaps PRO = Pricks (who) Rejected Off Roads? :D:rofl:

I'm a twice retired guy now - 26 years of active duty service in the Army followed by 16 years as a college administrator - the last 8 as President of the college. I bought my Pro in 2020 - wanted upgraded suspension because I live on an improved farm road..aka dirt and gravel and I fell in love with Army Green. I knew I wouldn't be looking to change out the suspension of anything I bought so the Pro met my needs and my eye. I just fell in love with it.

    Yes! Career man.

Once my wife and I got pregnant (yeah I intentionally said that), we got married and the USAF was my way of life. Coatbridge is just outside of Glasgow and we did visit while staying in Edinburgh, Scotland during our dating phase. Love the beautiful coastal countryside of this historic part of the UK.

As for moving back to SoCal/LA, I requested the USAF send me to west coast stateside assignments but the closest I got was Dyess AFB, TX (Abilene) and Dover, AFB DE (Dover). I don't consider Hickam AFB close to LA because it's a 5hr flight from Honolulu, HI. I can't complain...I had 8 assignments and numerous TDYs (Temp Duty) in a 25-year career.

I have family out there...in Alhambra and the Inland Empire. I don't visit as often as when I was active duty--the USAF would pay for our pitstop to LA before moving forward to our next duty assignment. I am not fond of LA enough to move out there. Plus, I have a nice size house here in Delaware, I know would cost me an arm/leg in SoCal.

Not sure why peeps hate the "skewp" but that's their prerogative. There's also issues with how much we spend on our Tacos and how we finance a vehicle too! lol

See you around and back to the thread topic.

What a good looking truck! AG was the dream, white became my reality. I can't complain too much until the paint starts peeling. As a clinical psychologist and assistant professor for an academic medical center that is literally connected to a VA, I thank you for your service x2! Thanks for sharing.

Ah yes, the IE. My wife is from the Redlands, Yucaipa, San Bernardino area...can't say I'm upset that her family moved to Idaho so I don't have to visit that part of CA anymore. And yes, gas prices aren't the only thing outrageously priced in CA. You pay a lot for those palm trees and sunny days.

I've noticed a few camps with the "skewp": people who don't like them because they obstruct view (reasonable, objective), don't like the look (reasonable, subjective), or don't like them because they aren't functional mechanically (somewhat reasonable IF you actually know what a functional hood scoop would improve and also hate other aesthetic features of the truck that serve no functional purpose).

This thread entertained me on a slow work day. Lol. Thanks OP.
Just a quick “hi!” to my big brothers from the true OG TRD Pro.
Ok, thanks for the entertainment, I’ll find my way back to my 2nd gen section. Lol

Haha...I actually wanted it to be a thread for all pros, but couldn't find the right category for it. Fantastic truck! My wife sold her 2008 OR, which is why I sold my FJ for a truck, but I loved that thing.
