Start off in 3rd gear, if you are on flat ground. 1st and 2nd are only necessary if loaded or towing a trailer.

That won't wear it down over time d/t overheating? My grandpa (old-school mechanic) suggested the same thing. Called 1st gear useless.

They only produce so many per year and they are sub-allocated to the various regions. Once the region has met it's assigned quota, the ability to build one in the configuration disappears from the Toyota build site.

That’s the spirit, because otherwise they’re exactly the same truck…I still think I’m proving my point as evidenced by all the hate (joking or not) when this was a thread for admiration and associated discussion.

You have to have pro time if you have a pro truck right? Or is this too much.D498477A-E7E9-42F4-B84D-A466708EFAA2.jpg

Kdmax with the manual transmission is so nice. The “sport” throttle is the cat’s Ass…. Also my OR has the pro intake and exhaust.

You think it did much for your truck beyond making it sound great?

Wow somebody got hurt lol. Shouldn't wear your feelings on your shoulder. If you go back and reread my post I said "my opinion". If you're a researcher than you'd clearly see none of the factory pro parts are that great. Only thing it has going is suspension. You must haven't done much research buddy lol. I don't regret my purchase one but at all. I was looking into a pro myself and DONE MY RESEARCH. Also I never said anything about anybody making a bad investment. If you get caught up in you're feelings you shouldn't be on the internet.

The intake and exhaust just makes it sound nice, the tune makes it go.

Even Toyota claims the same exact horsepower and torque for the pro, off-road, and sports. I mean what's the point of the TRD intake and exhaust. It's little to no gains. Like I said suspension it's got going for it as far as off road performance. Mostly it's just cosmetic upgrades. Also Toyota claims that the towing capacity is lower then the other trims. I didn't intended to hurt feeling. Apparently I hurt ops. If a pro is what you wanted then get it and enjoy it. If you work hard enough for you money you should buy what you want. I'm saying why I can't justify it. I rather put that money in my boosted Cobra. Hell people poke it me saying my Cobra is slow and looks like a banana but it don't ruffle my feathers.

Thanks! And yes, tires are a huge difference. Between armour, tires and the high clearance rear bumper there aren't too many places she can't go!

There are a few downsides to the "thing". My main issue is the "no car wash" as I like to run through with my other truck often. On the plus side, it's easy to spot in a parking lot. I would not have ordered a new truck with a snorkel but, I was looking for an AG MT and this popped up on the web as a special order for an airman that was shipped out before it arrived and it was only 200 miles away. Got it a few $K below sticker to boot. Didn't care about price as I got what I wanted and am still happy to have it and enjoy driving every day.

Right on. Still have my 04 Oxford white Cobra. Only have a 2 car garage so when I got the Tacoma I moved it to my parents place about 15 minutes away.

I wouldn’t do this. I think even 2nd gear starts are hard on the clutch in the 3rd gen.

All 3 supercharged w/ other performance mods.
These threads and the at/mt ones inevitably end up exposing the insecure on both sides of a superfluous debate.

I think the play is to start a thread claiming that you bought an OR stick for $10k under MSRP, added a scoop, lift/grill, and fraudulent PRO badging justified by the CAI you custom added for addntl HP and drive it to Applebees on date night to look down your nose at the simpletons in lesser trim lines IE fake Tacomas that aren’t really all that diff than Ridgelines if we’re being honest.

That’ll get all the children who can’t just let ppl buy what they want w/o their $0.02 together in one place.
