You “done” your research? Convincing statement. My main point is that this thread wasn’t one seeking opinion about pros vs other trims or the quality of parts, yet you felt so compelled to comment on the like because, what, you think we should be aware that they will fall apart on the freeway and thought it’d be amoral not to warn us? Well, thank you so much!

I definitely wasn’t roasting it, btw. I’m very jealous you were able to find an AG pro! Was just curious if they’re as inconvenient as I’ve heard. I think it’s interesting Toyota decided to put them on certain trucks.

Here’s my pro…. I have it because I paid less then most people are paying for their OR’s. Traded in a BMW for it, at the BMW dealership. 38k. Circa April 2020. I also made around $4500 off the wheels, fogs, suspension, and skid plate. None of that stuff is worth anything close to that taken from a OR/SR5/Sport.

So, the way I look at it. I paid considerably less then an OR if you factor out the shit I sold… and I have free leather seats, headlights, tail lights, hood, and grill. People seem to forget, pre covid, or right at the beginning, these trucks didn’t cost as much as they do now.

I never cease to be amazed at the people who feel compelled to tell me why I made a bad choice, why I should have bought an OR..or a Sport...or an SR5 or.......instead of buying my Pro because I could have added all the "better" parts to make my truck into a real Pro..or better than a Pro. The reality is that I bought the truck I liked, the truck I wanted, the truck I could afford and I am totally satisfied with MY choice. Not someone else's.

I don't seem to note Pro owners floating around the forum berating OR owners or Sport owners for their choices. The people that really baffle me are the ones who buy an "X", add a bunch of parts and then plaster Pro badges on their trucks, yet tell me why my Pro is inferior. Why would they want to badge their trucks to identify it as something they think is inferior? Do they really think people look at their trucks, discern the higher quality of parts and then say "Now that is a REAL Pro. Not one of those crappy OEM ones."

I honestly couldn't care less what people think of my choice just as they shouldn't care about what I think of theirs. Buy the truck you like and can afford and do with it what you want. You don't make yourself seem better or smarter telling others why you don't like their choices.

    Just my own $.02.

Those Black Edition HPD Ridgelines don't look half bad. I saw a Pilot in a Cavalry Blueesque color the other day if that's available on the Ridgeline that would be a winner.

This was a few months ago. Actually we walked in about a quarter mile to that point. Only was in the snow up towards government camp then we parked at the frog lake snow park.

What a beast! I also paid less than most OR out there, not withstanding my FJ cruiser trade and other sales prior. MT pros are just cheaper, and these days it helps if you know the GM. Cheers man.

So before I picked up my 2014 OR, I had a 2019 OR w/ the premium package. Had leather, sunroof, tech package, etc. Only thing different between my truck and a Pro were the rims, skid plate, grille, intake, exhaust, badge and suspension.

I paid $37k pre COVID so it would have been about about $8k to bump up to the pro at the time. In hindsight and after seeing how much shocks, rims, intake, skid plates and exhaust go for, especially if you don’t install them yourself, I can definitely see why folks opt to spend the money by having all of that stuff warrantied by Toyota and installed at the factory.

Exactly. An argument is usually made for better parts for cheaper, but that’s relative to needs/wants. I’m not mechanically inclined, wouldn’t have time if I were, and I don’t want my truck in the shop all the time while installing said mods. At baseline, I don’t want to mess with my warranty. I might be a bit more daring once that expires. Toyota installed my Eibach spring upgrades and provided paperwork stating no impact to warranty (they won’t cover the springs of course).

The emblem was the first thing I took off, I like it, don't get me wrong, but can't stand that the emblem is the exact same on both sides which makes the passenger side look out of place/backwards

I get super annoyed with the pro badge when it comes to washing the truck. Mud inevitably trickles down after each wash. If I wasn’t convinced I’ll eventually trade it in for the 4th gen, I’d rip them off with the quickness.

I'd cry and cry and cry and cry...lol!

It all depends on how you feel walking into the showroom and showing your cards. (Or not; however you shop for a vehicle)

I wanted the SPORT for sure and was looking for one under $40K. Got one with the least expensive add-on: floor mats & door trim.

If my tally is correct, I've spent less than $5K on upgrades.

Since driving my truck for the past 11 months, I've leaned against doing the TRD Lift.

In a sense, it's how happy you feel with your purchase...without ill feelings/negativity towards other's decision.

We are all in different financial positions...and money has always been a tough issue anyways.

I've been married 32 years and finances have tested our marriage...and continues to do so.

My neighbor is a physical therapist and his wife is also in a high position at the local hospital...they drive Mercedes; and owned a lower end Porche (which they got rid of). I look at that as a status symbol.

Does that equate to the same thing with Tacoma owners? Probably in a different way as we TW members aren't snobs. lol

Don't know what they were thinking with that acronym. Would need to delete the bedside decals.
