17" dick cepek rims with 33" nitto mudgrapplers tires, 3" lift, Fishing rod rack.
I currently own a 2009 toyota tacoma prerunner TRD. Its on 33x12.5x17r and a 3" suspension lift. The truck naturally sits forward some and I want it to lean back (cali style). What do I need to do to make the truck sit about 1.5" higher in the front, ontop of the lift?
I am fairly new to the lifts and everything.
Another thing, what do I need to convert the fog lights to led cubes?
I am trying to decide if I should change my rims and tire setup also. I like the Tacoma TSS 20" rims. Those on some open countries about 295x55x20. Would this setup work with stock arms?
I am not looking for an obnoxious lean but, I want something that is noticeable.
The pictures are older therefore, the truck now sits forward more than what is shown.

god no.... please no.... "Cali style" as you call it (that pains me to think it has that name) is literally the laughing stock of the trucks here in so cal. Level or with a slight rake forward, its functional.

3" Toytec spacers, Bilstein 5100s in the back with add a leaf and overloads removed.
I'd get 4" maxtrac spindles since you're a prerunner. But unless you want some serious lean I'd get rid of the 3" so you won't be at 7" lol

My truck is only .5" higher in the front and the lean is pretty noticeable but it looks level at some angles.
So 1.5" higher in the front should be really noticeable. As far as suspension goes, you could look at getting 4" spindles in the front which is what I have. Leave the back setup in and replace the front with the spindles and add 5100s and it should sit like you want it.

Well I'm guessing your going 33's for those Toyo's, and in my opinion 20" rims are too big in comparison. Well, really I think they're too big for any tire size. However the main reason is that 20" rims aren't good to wheel on. 18's are the max but most guys go 16"-17"'s for rims so that the tire/rim setup is a lot stronger for off road use.

All in all, I'm getting the feeling that you aren't a really intense wheeler and therefor rim size shouldn't really be a problem. I just don't like how big 20's are, just like how I don't like super shiny rims, or any rim that has huge amounts of space to see through the rim, essentially I like black baja style rims and not much else haha. I'm picky about rims... :D Get whatever you want for your truck so that you're happy with it and so that you constantly stare at it. Then you know you chose your mods correctly. But also read about the advantages and disadvantages for whatever your needs are. For example, Toyo MT's are sick tires, but for me in cold ass Saskatchewan (that's in Canada), MT's suck for snow and ice. But for you, Louisiana mud is perfect, downside is you don't get as good of life out of them in comparison to an AT tire. But an AT tire wouldn't be as good for rock climbing or mudding. Good luck!

The "lean" has many names. Most common I hear is what ever city or county the person lives in lean. So if you live in Cincinnati its Cincinnati-Lean. Or if you live in Harlan County the Harlan County lean.

Never heard it referred to as Cali lean and I don't see it being hugely popular there.

My sister lives in Alexindria, Louisiana the young kids there call it the Alec Lean. Alec or Alectown being a nickname for Alexindria. Where I live they call it Hoptown Lean.

I thought cali lean was the front higher than the rear, where as most trucks lean forward and the front is lower than the rear. I would think cali lean is said because of all the low rider cars, muscle cars, hot rods, etc. that have the front higher than the rear so that your riding like a pimp? :D

Thanks for the input, I like the 20's because they look good and they are stock. I am skeptical how well the chrome will fit my the painted color scheme that my truck holds.

Please aim the front of the truck even higher with those crappy HIDs in the halogen housings. I don't think you're blinding everyone enough yet. ;)

    This thread is winning.

OP. the lean won't help you in any particular way, in fact it makes it harder to see over the hood while parallel parking etc. I have the lean because my rear leafs are worn and wish I didn't because when I load the dirt bike, gear, gas in the bed, it REALLY leans. Since you're towing that boat invest in a strong leaf-pack and screw the lean. Go for the 20's, it's a rim and nobody cares (except you) just read on the negatives & positives associated. We all need something else to look at besides blacked out 16's and plasti dipped everything.

    Thanks man! @BenJammn5
What leaf pack could you suggest that would work? I pull an 18ft bay boat on the regular. Sometimes a larger boat 21ft.

the proper term for said lean is "Bro Lean"

All the bro's at pismo and glamis rock it.... to look cool you know, with their built LT front suspension and perfectly stock rear suspension.

All-pro standard leaf. You'll need longer shocks to go with those since they lift the rear 3"
If you're up for it go with 4" spindles for the front and you'll have a nice riding machine.

Does anybody run the led pods in place of the fog lights?
If so, where can they be purchased?

Consider airbags if you're thinking of part-time towing. Most of the time my Tacoma (definitively NOT cali style by the way, despite my zip code) is my commuter vehicle so I didn't want to change the stock ride too much. Airbags allow me to adjust when I'm towing the family camper and maintain the stock ride when I'm not.
