Pete's motorola one click rooting and unrooting is the easiest by far!

As stated above. That sbf will get u out of almost anything. I've sbfed 5x in a day when tinkering too hard. It'll get u out of a pinch. I use droidxforums for my help... Google will save u too. Once u have the basics of rooting ur addicted. Don't forget to get tittanium back up after ur root and perform a batch backup.

*sent via Droid x2, had the x wife has one now.

Most the time I have a bad download or the wrong version (x / x2) when I bootloop. Try downloading it again, make sure its the right version for you and see if that works.

I always ask my wife if I can wipe her phone out and flash a new rom.

I'd check on http://forum.xda-developers.com for your phone. Chances are someone has a real easy root for it.

For mine, there is a one-click root program (and unroot). Download & install the program on your pc, hook your phone up (usb debug on) and click the button. Super easy.

Has anyone had this phone for a while? How do you like it? I'm thinking of upgrading to the new Razr Maxx for the longer battery life. Not to long ago I got and HTC Desire which has Android software but the longest battery life I've had has been about 8 hours and that was while I was doing nothing on it. If I use it like I normally do, texting a lot about 200 a day outgoing, then it'll only last a good 4-5. I've got an upgrade and am out of my 2 year contract with Alltel so I can drop it at anytime no charge.

And as for rooting it and bricking your phone, make a nandroid backup first and its pretty much impossible to brick after that.

The only way I've been able to fully brick an android phone is by throwing it against a wall about 5 or 6 times. I normally load a new rom/kernel combo about 3 times a month and have had times where it took me hours to fix, but I was able to get it fixed.

You should be able to make the switch from alltel to verizon right? I've seen reviews where the guy couldnt drain the battery in a full day. I've seen some that even say you could get 3 days of use out of it. I have 3 more months til I can upgrade, as long as ICS is on the maxx by then, thats what I'll be getting.

I exchanged my RAZR for the RAZR MAXX, and LOVE IT! The battery life is great! I have to use the shit out of it to get it down to 50% after 16 hours off the charger. Under light use, I have gone 3 days (2 days, 17 hours, and 37 mins) and had 30% batt. life.

So for anyone who is on Verizon, they're going to be offering family data plans soon. It's perfect if you have a family member who doesn't use much data but still has to pay for a data plan. It's going to be a slow roll out.

Check out this new Phone from ASUS:
    http://techland.time.com/2012/02/27/asus-padfone-phone-becomes-tablet-becomes-laptop/

It's called the Padfone. It plugs into a larger screen which makes it into a tablet, which can then be plugged into a keyboard to make it like a laptop. Each peripheral has a battery in it to charge the phone giving it a 16 hour constant use as a tablet/laptop.

No word yet on who the carrier would be or if it will even come to the US.
